The only plot hole that I've seen that I have a problem with is Duke's involvement with the two villains: Rex and the Baroness.
It's not bad enough that Cobra wants to rule the world, let's add DRAMA to it by having these interweaving relationships between the main character (Duke) and the villains. Apparently someone has been watching too much Smallville. If they want to reimagine Ripcord, the basis of the Joe team (making them international), and 100 other things, that's their business. I am certain that every gripe on this board has been brought up before during the making of X-men (why are they all in black?), Transformers (I don't recognize any of these "NEW" designs), and The Dark Knight (They picked WHO to play the Joker?!) If GI Joe turns out to be as good as any of these movies, I will be happy. |

I voted no, though I will refrain from specualting on the films ability to entertain until I have spent my $10. That said, the main problem I have is the casting or character choice. If they wanted racial integration, thet should have used characters that were racially viable. Meaning if they wanted an African American character, they should have used one instead of taking an existing character and changing his race to meet the actor playing him.
I don't understand the changes or how the conclusions were reached to make them. All I know is that I'll be going in with a bias against the film based on my own preferences given the source material. Hopefully the movie will prove me wrong and I will enjoy it for what it is and leave feeling as though I were entertained for the last two hours.

They just substituted Duke for Snake-Eyes in CC's backstory (with a few other changes, obviously, but the previously friendly relationship with a "Joe" is still there). Probably a pretty wise change as hinging your movie on the mute, masked ninja isn't likely to work as well as it does in the comics. (Which was also the reason Snake-Eyes got comparatively little to do in the cartoon series). |

I watched the trailer again last night. I've gotta tell ya, I could watch the Eiffel Tower crumble apart a dozen times, and it still wouldn't get old.
At least that part of the movie will be satisfying. |
