Ok, this has been bothering me since I saw ROC in the theater.
Is it just me, or was the fight scene between SE and SS at the end of ROC disappointing? I mean when I heard that Ray Park was SE I freaked out and figured that we would see another sick ass fight scene like the Phantom Menace but instead......... 1) It was super short 2) The fighting was so quick and blurry I couldn't even tell what was going on! Was this scene filmed in screen or was it CGIed? Why would you use computers to enhance a fight scene by two great martial artists/ stuntmen? At least Michael Bay tries to shoot as much of his movies in screen , even he does not care for CGI . In my opinion CGI should be used sparingly, and for things that don't exist in the real world ( Dragon, giant talking transforming robots, large underwater arctic strongholds) , but it seemed that almost nothing was shot without some computer finishing in ROC, and that is my biggest gripe about the movie. |

It was a little anticlimactic to me also.

Yeah, I agree. It should've been the best scene of the movie...really, should've been the best scene of any movie last year...but it was far from it.

It's funny, but I thought Star Trek was the best movie of the summer, not Joe,Terminator or Transformers.

i'll agree w/ trek beating out tf2, roc, and t4 by a mile. as far as the fight scene goes, yeah, it was lame but not disappointing. at that point in the movie i had pretty much checked out, so short was good.

Funny but true, by the time the fight scene came I was already so disgusted with the movie I figured nothing could make it any worse.

I didnt find the lightsaber duel in TPM that great either, it was more highly choreographed foot work than any actual depth or raw passion.
If you want good ninja fights best watching Sho Kosugi films. |
