Just some of the things that made ROC cool
Baroness was hot Scarlett was hot The 3 second clip of Jinx in camo suit was hot The grenade blowing off the NeoViper heads Storm Shadow's many kills The part where HD says the delta suit will respond to whatever you are thinking and on the visor of Ripcord you see pics of Scarlett instantly Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow as kids fighting Zartan whistling so we know where he was at all times 3 second clip of Jinx I guess was cool. Grenade blowing off NeoViper head agreed was cool. Storm Shadow's kills ehh they were alright,I mean didn't he just throw his corny ninja stars in an obvious and corny way? HD Delta suit Ripcord visor whatever you think response was okay so I agree. Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow fighting as kids was HILARIOUS! Storm Shadow's hair cut made me laugh everytime I saw him, hahaha i'm laughing now just remembering it. LOL then the quick close up of SS's face as he angrily looked at his master for approval while his master in an obvious and corny way showed he favored SE,hahaha so lame. Zartan's whistle was overdone and I remember seeing someone post one time that it was "haunting" LMAO. Also every scene with General Hawk was crazy funny to me. I disagree with this point.
Harcore fans, the type that would post on a message board, are more critical of the product than both casual an non fans. As a species in general we are more likely to complain about what we don't like than rave about what we do. I beleive one could make an argunent that the polls on this site should lean more to the negative and since they don't then the polls are telling us the movie was great. |

I got PS3 for Christmas so ROC was the first movie I bought last night and I watched it for the first time at home and 3rd time overall. The movie is just so Joe...through and through IMHO. The thing that gets me the most is the way Heavy Duty yells "Yo Joe" at the end...should have had an american do it correctly like the cartoon. Can't wait for the second one.
I was thinking though...the CGI has been heavily criticized but what if it was left that way on purpose? It looks "cartoony" to me...almost like a nod to the cartoon series like it's meant to be that way. They must have had enough money to get the best/most convicing CGI around so why would they have settled for something that looks that off unless it's supposed to look that way...just a thought. |

I agree but I also think that as hardcore fans they will also more willingly look past or overlook certain things due to the same "hardcore" feelings that drive them sometimes to be hyper critical. One example is say sports fans who follow a team "hardcore" even though their team sucks for like the past 50 years. Those same fans will be some of most critical, they are devoted, and given those criticism one would think that the most logical step would be to follow another team.Yet year after year they still follow and still go to the games faithfully even though the team sucks. So basically I'm saying that particular effect applies to a poll taken on a fansite. It's the same mentality that plays a factor in the voting process and its final outcome.
In sports you typically root for the home team, and possibly another you've decided is your favorite and stick with them regardless of their performance, true enough. Politics; you stick with your party, regardless of your candidate, true too. Pop culture; you latch on to the source material, and bemoan anything that deviates. You can probably count on half a hand the # of "comic book" movies that have come out that didn't have the fans outraged at the differences between the finished product and the character's original/ most widely accepted representation. My experience posting on this site is somewhat limited, but it can certainly seem at times that the fan-bases dissatisfaction with the current product is very vocal. Then you attach a poll to your thread and all of a sudden the majority likes it. People like to complain, those that are satisfied are content with their satisfaction. |

So I sat down and watched it with my 5 year old nephew today. He was asking who the characters where since they don't look like the cartoon. When it showed Rex/Dr/CC and I told him it was Cobra Commander he said, "No it isn't! You can see his face."
I don't know if I should feel proud or what. |
