Been working on this for a little bit. Reimagining what G.I. Joe looks like in 2024 and when it doesn't suck. Here's what I came up with. A premium series centered on the Dreadnoks that teases the other characters. Zartan leads the 'Noks on a mission for a secret client in a fictional port city called Cape Lavelle. Opposing them; A marine on leave, a ranger stationed in a near by base, a undercover CIA agent and certain redheaded special operative. All thrown together out of neccessity. G.I. Joe is barely in its infancy. Nobody knows who Cobra is or what they want.
Every premium series needs a fantastic stylized opening title sequence, and Dreadnoks would be no different. It took 50 hours to craft less than 2 minutes! I knew I wanted a few imporant things. 1) A chaotic collage of images that fit the Dreadnoks persona and promised things we would see in the series afterwards. 2) A slick, sophisticated take on the characters that also paid homage to all of the great aspects of media gone-by. 3) A bad ass intro song, that like all of the shows of the 80's almost always had lyrics. What's a G.I. Joe series without a catchy hook theme song? I made the opening sequence (link below) with AI. All images, video and even the music (although the lyrics are mine). Check out the link in the first comment below, let me know what you think. |
