Ideally, Hasbro would take their properties to any studio willing to put up the funds and make something based on their products, but at no point was there any piece of news saying that Hasbro's deal with Paramount had expired or was terminated or anything else like that, so...everything I said in my previous post.

I just hope they find someone to make a GIJOE movie about GIJOE and not a generic action movie with GIJOE names in it. Honor the characters and the lore.

I actually ranted about Snake Eyes to a friend of mine this past weekend (bless her for listening to me).

Snake Eyes movie bombed. Snake Eyes is supposedly the most recognizable and popular character in GI Joe.

I'm pretty sure this is irony? Like a very tragic depressing irony. And yet, somehow I can't help but laugh.

Also, snake eyes wasn?t Asian he was also in Vietnam. He was a disfigured captain America, looking fellow with a twin sister.

It's tragic and damaging on multiple levels. As a brand, both Snake Eyes and GI Joe brand. It's such a fail, that I can't help looking at the situation as comedic. And also, is anyone actually surprised they messed this up so bad? Of course they did. Makes perfect sense really.

Honestly it's fine if they didn't do the Vietnam story, to try to modernize it. Just.. there was practically nothing in that movie reminiscent of the character or the brand as a whole. Heck he didn't even wear the mask in the movie except for the last 5 seconds, and he didn't even get any facial scarring or voice damage! Heck the most offensive thing to me was they practically made Storm Shadow a good guy. He was so nice trying to get Snake Eyes into the aarashikage, but they kicked out Tommy, but not Snake Eyes in the end? What the hell? That makes Storm Shadow completely, 100% justified in hating SE.

I guess the takeaway is, with a Snake Eyes movie they both pissed off hardcore fans, and garnered almost no interest with the general public. Winning!
