I'm probably the only one who feels this way, but if there is to be another Joe movie, I would prefer they cast unknowns, that would be my fantasty casting. Too often big budget movies load up on the star talent in the hopes of creating a cash cow, but the big stars fail to deliver. I think ROC suffered from too many A listers with the exceptions being GJL and Sienna Miller, I thought both of them deliverd excellent performances.

I'd go along with that. Sometimes a formulaic movie is made better by not knowing all the actors or what they tend to be capable of in a role. But, then there's the occasional The Thing or The Firm, which overflows with great actors and becomes a classic. Or, maybe moviegoers love Wilford Brimley that much.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts teases a new G.I. JOE team exists, and here is who should join the cast of Hasbro's Cinematic Universe as the JOEs.
by COOPER HOOD PUBLISHED 2 DAYS AGO SUMMARY Paramount's decision to incorporate G.I. Joe into the Transformers universe implies a full reset for the beloved team, requiring new casting choices to bring these characters to life. Alan Ritchson would be a charismatic and ideal choice to play Duke, the natural leader of the G.I. Joes, thanks to his demonstrated skills and on-screen presence. Joe Taslim is a perfect candidate to portray Snake Eyes, while Karen Gillan as Scarlett is another fantastic option. The Hasbro Cinematic Universe needs a new G.I. JOE team after Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' crossover tease, and here are some casting suggestions for the main members. Paramount finally made a decision on how to continue the G.I. JOE franchise in 2023 after nearly a decade of uncertainty. The original franchise came to an end with G.I. Joe: Retaliation in 2013, and Snake Eyes failed to successfully reboot the property in 2021. This left the state of the JOEs in limbo at the same time that Paramount was still figuring out how to move forward with Transformers after Michael Bay, leading them to make a Hasbro crossover. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' G.I. Joe crossover reveal in the movie's final scene provided some much-needed clarity about what will come next for the JOEs. While Channing Tatum, Dwayne Johnson, Henry Golding, and others starred in the previous live-action movies, bringing G.I. JOE into Transformers' world indicates that a full reset is coming. This means that all the main G.I. JOE characters need to be cast as part of the Hasbro Cinematic Universe set up in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. It might be a few years before this happens, but it's never too early to suggest the new G.I. JOE team cast members. Noah Diaz & Agent Burke Should Be Part Of The New G.I. JOE Team Before adding any new cast members to the G.I. JOE team, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' ending seemingly reveals two members of it through Noah Diaz (Anthony Ramos) and Agent Burke (Michael Kelly). Noah is recruited to join the G.I. JOE team in the final scene, and while he does not formally accept the offer, his military background makes him a prime candidate to join them at some point. This would allow him to work with Agent Burke on a larger basis, as Burke is likely much more than just the organization's recruiter. This should allow Noah Diaz and Agent Burke to be on the G.I. JOE team in Hasbro's universe. Alan Ritchson As Duke Any new G.I. Joe team for Hasbro's Cinematic Universe needs a new version of Duke, the most recognizable member of the group in the toys, comics, shows, and movies. He was previously played by Channing Tatum in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Whoever plays Duke needs to be someone who can bring his natural leadership abilities to the screen and be believable as the type of commander who prefers to be in battle than behind a desk. As the likely face of the new G.I. Joe reboot, Duke's actor needs to be fairly charismatic too, which is where Alan Ritchson comes to mind. Alan Ritchson would be an ideal casting decision for Duke in a G.I. Joe reboot set in the Hasbro Cinematic Universe. This could be an opportunity for him to take all the skills he's demonstrated on Prime Video's Reacher series and bring them to the big screen. Ritchson is convincingly fearless and tough thanks to his personality and build, which makes the idea of him playing Duke seem like a perfect fit. It is easy to imagine Ritchson's Duke leading a new G.I. Joe team into battle and even working alongside the Transformers at a later date. Joe Taslim As Snake Eyes Snake Eyes is a tricky character to cast for Hasbro's new G.I. Joe team*Transformers: Rise of the Beasts*set up, primarily because it is unclear how the franchise will want to portray him. Although the deadly assassin is typically portrayed as a silent type, the origin movie for the character broke this mold. It allowed Henry Golding a chance to bring Snake Eyes to life like never before, giving audiences a better understanding of him. There is a chance Paramount will continue down this road and allow the next Snake Eyes actor a chance to speak and act without the traditional black mask on at all times. This is why Joe Taslim could be a perfect choice to play Snake Eyes and join the next G.I. Joe team cast. He has an incredible reputation as an actor with plenty of experience in big productions, but Taslim is also an incredibly skilled fighter. His roles in Warrior, Mortal Kombat, and even The Raid: Redemption are signs of his amazing abilities as a performer and fighter. This makes Joe Taslim an ideal suggestion for the G.I. Joe casting process, as he can bring Snake Eyes to life no matter how the movie determines to show or hide the character's personality or face. Karen Gillan As Scarlett It would also be surprising if the next G.I. Joe team cast did not include someone playing Scarlett. As one of the original members of the G.I. Joes and the most popular woman character, her inclusion is all but assured. Audiences have previously seen Rachel Nichols play her in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, while Samara Weaving stepped into the role for Snake Eyes. Scarlett is a skilled fighter and acrobat who is best known for using a crossbow as her weapon of choice. Whoever would play Scarlett in the Hasbro Cinematic Universe*needs to be someone who is strong, charming, and incredibly smart. Karen Gillan would be an excellent choice to play Scarlett and be cast in the new G.I. Joe team. She is best known for her role as Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Gillan has repeatedly proven her skills in action outside the superhero genre, along with the full range of her personality and ability. She would give the Hasbro Cinematic Universe a recognizable face for audiences to get behind and help make Scarlett one of the main characters. Everything from Gunpowder Milkshake to the Jumanji movies proves Karen Gillan's G.I. Joe casting would elevate the action. Trevante Rhodes As Stalker The new G.I. Joe team could provide Hasbro with an opportunity to finally bring Stalker to live-action. He is one of the original members and leaders of the team, and he holds significance as being the first Black character in the comics. Stalker is an expert military fighter, medic, and interpreter who has achieved high-ranking positions with the team in the past. Bringing the character to the new G.I. Joe team could mean casting Trevante Rhodes, known for Moonlight and The Predator, to play him. Rhodes' past performances prove he has the range to play a confident and caring fighter. Sofia Boutella As Lady Jaye The new G.I. Joe team cast for Hasbro's Cinematic Universe could also include a new version of Lady Jaye. Previously played by Adrienne Palicki in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Lady Jaye is a character best known for her ability to impersonate others and incredible fighting abilities. This is why Sofia Boutella could be an excellent choice to play her in the reboot. Boutella has repeatedly proven her strengths in action movies thanks to Kingsman: The Secret Service, Hotel Artemis, and Star Trek Beyond. Paramount would be smart to keep her around and let her versatility and action ability shine with G.I. Joe's Lady Jaye. Pedro Pascal As Shipwreck Shipwreck is another G.I. Joe character who could be part of the new team after Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' G.I. Joe crossover setup. He is a former Navy SEAL who eventually joins the G.I. Joes with great knowledge of the sea and even a talking pet bird. The Spanish supporting character could be an excellent opportunity for the Hasbro Cinematic Universe to lure Pedro Pascal to another franchise. After appearing in*The Mandalorian, The Last of Us, and*Wonder Woman 1984, a G.I. Joe movie could be a natural next step. It would also leave the door open for Shipwreck's role to grow as Pascal's schedule clears up. Kurt Russell As Joe Colton Joe Colton is the original G.I. Joe in the canon, so the veteran leader of the group is an opportunity for the Hasbro Cinematic Universe to lure in a big former action star. Paramount did this before with Bruce Willis playing Joe Colton in*G.I. Joe: Retaliation. The new version of the character would need to be played by someone who can command a room and audiences will believe used to be among the best soldiers in America. That is why Kurt Russell should play Joe Colton in the*G.I. Joe*cast. He'd effortlessly convey his experience and bring a gruff but likely charming performance to a recurring character. - https://screenrant.com/gi-joe-team-h...rmers-casting/

I don't want to see a talking, maskless Snake Eyes. Got to love how they talk about Paramount breaking the mould for Snake Eyes in the Origins movie, but completely leaving out how badly that movie bombed, with Snake Eyes' portrayal being a huge reason.
