Retaliation is slightly better thanks to being a bit more spiritually aligned with the comics (ROC felt like a live action cartoon adaptation). That and Jonathan Pryce's Zartan is a hoot. I saw ads for the Snake Eyes movie... then completely forgot it existed. I don't feel any rush to go check it out either.

They were both bad, but ROC toys were for the most part, a lot better. The only vehicle I found compelling was the 2010 Vamp mk II repaint. You had a few real great figures like Kwinn, Crimson Guard and Clutch, but it was pretty underwhelming overall.

As for the films, ROC tried to make a GI Joe film and failed because of camp and soap opera-like drama. Retaliation tried to sell us a bad version of The Expendables as GI JOE with a star-power bill of sale. Both are unwatchable, but I can at least respect ROC.

It's a decent ninja movie, but only when it doesn't remind you it's supposed to fit in a GI Joe universe.
