Good things take time. And I am willing to wait to have quality over just having one.

Name calling? The rift only happens if you let it. It's a forum. I have a right to post my thoughts. You didn't have to post anything back. There are those who liked the film and there are those who didn't. Just because this is a Joe site doesn't mean I have to suck on the teet of Hasbro. And worship everything G.I.Joe. What is really asinine is that Hasbro allowed that film to be made. Again, MY post. MY opinion. Look we ALL love G.I.Joe. Doesn't mean we ALL have to love everything Joe. I hated the '90's stuff, Savage, the Valor stuff, Sigma 6, and now the movie. I liked Resolute. And I may or may not like the upcoming stuff. Bottom line is the rift starts when you call people names. Because they don't have the same opinion as you.

Ummm, you can when the movie had a $175 million production budget and a rumored $150 million dollar marketing budget. That's $325 million dollars in cost versus $190 million in tickets sold worldwide (a big chunk of which goes to theatre owners)... And it's dying fast at the box office too. Poor word of mouth and bad reviews are sinking it like a stone. Around a 60% drop in it's second weekend, getting beat by the low-budget District 9 and almost getting beat by The Time Traveler's Wife, to be folowed by getting creamed by Inglorious Basterds this weekend. The only thing that could have sustained it for a longer run would have been good reviews...which it didn't get.
Gotta say, I'm pretty happy to see this go bust. I love G.I.Joe....and that turd on the screen is an insult to it. Sallah ROC is going to turn a profit, there is no doubt. and a movie that turns a profit is never considered a bust. it is just a matter of how much, and whether that will warrant a direct sequel. Paramount may not see it worthwhile to spend $200 million plus to only make $20 or $30 million when they can make 4 $50 million movies that make $20 million profits each. So a movie that "sucks" (according to some on here) has made almost $200,000,000 in less than 2 weeks ...
That doesn't smell like failure to me. The ROC line (movie, merchandise, toys, video games, etc) has brought a whole new fan base into GI Joe. If you tie everything together this line has been a tremendous success. I think its been "die-hard" cartoon GI Joe fans that think the movie sucks because there have been a lot of families and kids who think its great and that will bring the Pursuit of Cobra in the near future.
