It's alrdy been explained, and if you don't get it you don't get it...If you think that making a ton of money = a movie good you couldn't be more wrong. ALL of those movies were deemed of falling WAYYYYY short then advertised, and it wasn't because of expectation being too high.
If you'd like to continue to sit and dream in your little tree house while logging into "Yahoo Movies" be my guest. Depicting me as a child isn't going to help you get your point across either although I wish I had a tree house still... Last edited by Sgt. Stowell; 08-26-2009 at 04:38 PM.. |

That is a pretty silly statement as I don't hate ROC...... Also being a fan does not cloud my judgment..... I love the idea of a GI JOE movie even if it is a pile of dog-sh*t..... But on the swing side of that statement I just love good movies more.
ROC on the merits of being a movie in my opinion was not a very good film. On the merits of being a GI JOE film...... I love it. Not very hard to understand. With that said, I also do not ignore facts and the fact is I was replying to the statement......the month in which the film was released is irrelevant...... it has been for quite sometime. August is not the dumping ground for bad films it once was..... do research and you will become enlightened! Once again, sorry if you took my comments personally. I simply grow tired of people mocking the success of a fun summer movie that has potential to spawning hopefully a much better sequel and, for us Joe fans, more and better toys!

Distribution is the cost of getting the film into theatres. Pretty cut and dry.
And dude...it's the LA Times. It's in print. I highly doubt they would print something like that if they didn't have evidence to back it up. So the number is factual regardless of how ludicrous people want to make it seem. When it was simply stated on here that it was $150 million in marketing cost, everyone threw a fit and said "no way is that true", "You're making up lies to benefit the haters" and stuff like that. Now there's obvious proof and it's still not enough? Facts are facts. The movie cost Paramount $325 million. It's still almost $100 million away from making that back, and it's not showing signs of having legs in theaters. Had it cost less, the movie would be a success...but Paramount put way too much faith in it, and had the movie been good it might have had legs enough to recover the cost. But it's not. Oh, and that's just to make back cost...to say nothing of moving into the range that would be deemed profitable by paramount. Sallah |

The movie was...... so lame.....
I am a huge fan of the cartoon and the comic. The way i see it is..... that the movie was just another persons idea of how it would look. What made my blud boil was... 1) Duke and this chick named Anna.....(yes i know it was the Baroness) but you all know it was not the same. you can not deny that. i think they dropped her name one time? NO ACCENT?!?!?! Her and duke escaping....kinda lame.... UNLESS!!!!!!! she is just acting like she has been reformed and is just getting close to duke to get info?..... We just have to wait for part two i guess. 2) Ripcord..........all I'm going to say on that one 3) Snake Eyes and his lips on the suit..... creepy 4) All of their uniforms..... lame i mean if i am not mistaken some wore blue cammo...... in the middle of the desert or inside of a giant building underground made out of metal........ 5) Why not Roadblock?...... and stalker?....... or Doc..... instead of changing a character completely... Heavy duty.... 90's character..... and where was his green ass hat?! all in all i just wish they stuck with the original story line....It worked already. |

Is the figure of $325 a ludicrous suggestion (the reality is lower) or The figure is accurate and it was a ludicrous figure to invest by the studio I honestly can't decide which ludicrous situation is the most true... |

Her and duke escaping....kinda lame.... UNLESS!!!!!!! she is just acting like she has been reformed and is just getting close to duke to get info?..... We just have to wait for part two i guess. At least the cliffhanger intrigues you. This isn't ARAH, it's a different continuity loosely based on those characters. 2) Ripcord..........all I'm going to say on that one That doesn't tell us anything. If you have a point, you may as well make it... 3) Snake Eyes and his lips on the suit..... creepy Fair enough! 4) All of their uniforms..... lame i mean if i am not mistaken some wore blue cammo...... in the middle of the desert or inside of a giant building underground made out of metal........ The colour choice wasn't wrong, and they did change colour schemes, but it renders the overall look bland... 5) Why not Roadblock?...... and stalker?....... or Doc..... instead of changing a character completely... Heavy duty.... 90's character..... and where was his green ass hat?! I really think (whatever the producers say) that they got SE, Duke and Scarlett as American, American and Canadian respectively. Then they needed other internationals. Rather than making Roadblock a Brit, making HEavy Duty a Brit instead might have been less risky. Also IDW changed the name too, but had the V2 design!!!! |

That doesn't tell us anything. If you have a point, you may as well make it... well my point is obvious..... Ripcord is a white guy named "Weems, Wallace A." Red hair..... Scottish....they had a Wayans brother play em.... I am not surprised by the how much $$$$$ it made..... |

I know, right? Since no media outlet has ever printed or aired anything that wasn't 100% accurate.
