some thoughts Im having right now after seeing it again from a web rip
I liked the whole nanomite storyline.. very cool stuff.. though stil could of used some changes Destro's voice sucks big time They never should revealed CC as they did.. the mystery that surrounded him was what really made him interesting... & the change of appearance is unforgivable Baroness's story was down right awful.. ex blonde.. smh all the joes sucked.. except Scarlett & Snakeeyes .. minus the mouth Storm Shadow was.. Im not sure.. his acting was over the top sometimes.. wasnt feeling it so much Zartan has promise.. he could pull off a very good rendition if done right Im kinda depressed about the movie overall.. Ive waited over 25 years for it to happen.. & they blow it.. it was hard watching it a 2nd time.. barely made it through.. now the other hand.. the cartoons.. Ill be able to watch for ever.. big difference

look at the drops from last weeks openers.
Here are the top 10 films at the domestic box office, according to studio estimates and Hollywood.com: 1. "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" (Paramount/Spyglass): Opened to $56.2 million domestically and $44 million overseas. 2. "Julie & Julia" (Sony Pictures): $20.1 million on its first weekend. 3. "G-Force" (Disney): Down 44% on its third weekend to $9.8 million. Total ticket sales in the U.S. and Canada: $86.1 million. Not great given the $150-million production budget. 4. "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" (Warner Bros.): $8.9 million, a decline of 50% on its fourth weekend. Domestic total: $273.8 million. 5. "Funny People" (Universal/Sony/Relativity): A sharp drop of 65% on its second weekend to $7.9 million. Total domestic ticket sales: $40.4 million. 6. "The Ugly Truth" (Sony): Declined 47% to $7 million. Domestic gross to date: $69.1 million. 7. "A Perfect Getaway" (Universal/Rogue): Launched to $5.8 million. 8. "Aliens in the Attic" (Fox/New Regency): $4 million on its second weekend, down 50%. A weak $16.3 million in U.S. and Canadian ticket sales so far. 9. "Orphan" (Warner Bros./Dark Castle): Declined 50% on its third weekend to $3.7 million. Domestic total: $34.8 million. 10. "(500) Days of Summer" (Fox Searchlight): Earned $3.7 million as it expanded to 817 theaters. Total gross for the indie romantic comedy is now $12.3 million, making it the biggest limited release of the year so far. |

Honestly I am shocked that people are giving it such poor reviews. It may be possible that I am giving it a buffer since I am a fan BUT I am a fan of good films as well. G.I. Joe was not supposed to be an intense story filled with enigmatic people or scenes that take deeper meaning but a film that was just plain FUN. Can people just get over it? It was supposed to be a stupid movie, it's a franchise based on action figures a brand targeted to young children. For some reason the critics still cannot get over this. CGI CGI CGI! TOO MUCH they say. F off is what I say!

As more new threads pop up every day about hatred for this film, I think maybe Stephen Sommers should have done what Michael Bay did and make a film that isn't remotely like the source material...

These guys intersperse about 2 valid points with 19 minutes of mindless drivel. They literally hated everything. In the process of them trying desperately to deride everything in the film, they ended up making themselves and their point of view look shallow.
As more new threads pop up every day about hatred for this film, I think maybe Stephen Sommers should have done what Michael Bay did and make a film that isn't remotely like the source material... it'd be more my cup of tea. I'm not a purist. None of my complaints about it have anything to do with GI JOE really. maybe the next one will be an all new animal and I'll love it.

Yeah, I think they should have stuck with the novel's ending (It has Destro and CC getting away) |
