I did at the end when he was talking to Duke. Also, Destro told Duke that he wasn't going to be the one who the world would turn too once the world was in chaos. Plus the way Commander manhandled Destro at the end gave it away....
all in all, it reminded me a lot of Sidious in the prequels. Cobra Commander just manipulated and moved pieces from behind the scenes until it was time to take action....though I think Sidious would take action before being stuck in a stranded submarine... my money is on a load more ninja action in the DVD directors cut....could be wrong though... Ah but he did take action before getting caught. Remember, the ace up his sleeve is Zartan. Kind of reminds me of the Colonel Sharp scene from Revenge of Cobra. |

As i look at the haters thread, i find it really shameful that some have allowed their skewed adult perspectives to hinder them from enjoying what GiJoe essentially has always been. It's never been about great acting, or CGI, or drama. It's always been about fun and action and adventure. That' what Sommers delivered and it brought me back to when i was a kid again. Gijoe, from a kid's perspective? Oh the insanity!(note sarcasm)

Me! I have a feeling they'll explain it away as he was injected with nanomites and that they repaired his wounds and prevented him from freezing to death in the water. I mean, if the nanomites can expel venom from a snake bite and repair that kind of wound, I don't see why they can't repair a simple stab wound.

Yeah, the haters seem to lose perspective. One guy criticised Scarlett's suit because it had 'c-cups', yet the original figure did too. in fact the only 'normal uniform' figure for Scarlett is the first RoC one.
Similarly Snake Eyes lips - yet they were on the V2 figure. In the UK, GI Joe was always international, so it's not a huge change for us. The other criticisms, ie the plot etc, strike me as odd too - that's because if you look at all the new GI Joe stories this year, the best has to be IDW's Cobra miniseries which is one of the best Joe comics but would be a bad choice of film for kids, and the worst is IDWs first 6 comics. In fact as a GI Joe introductory story the movie fares better, and develops characters better (not all) than either Cobra:Origins or IDW 1-6. The only comics that rise well above the pulp standard of GI Joe fare are issue 21 and the Snake Eyes origin 2 parter. Beyond that they are all pulp, but good pulp nevertheless. |

I liked the movie. It took me a whilt to get over some of the back stories. But it's a movie. It's its own thing.
And yeah, I was surprised at how much I liked the Doctor. He reminded me of the old school villains. Movies don't do that anymore. They all take them selves so seriously. And I think that's what I liked most about this movie. It didn't try to be anything more that what it was.
