Yeah I guess that is right since it is the retailers who pay thier bills, forgot about that point. But will Target feel the burn for putting so much faith into it and stop ordering more after September? It is obvious Walmart is letting Target choke on all of this since they don't care to play the early game, may actually end being a smart move so they can see how well recieved the product is. Well need a GI JOE public service annoumcent from Flint or BBQ to let us know cause that is half the battle!
come the holidays, if the toys don't movie, retailers will have great concern. that's when they really expect the larger items, like the PITT and electronic Duke to sell. |

The movie is doing what it set out to very well. For the first time in almost 20 years I see kids asking their parents to look at the GI Joe toys.
Everyone in love with the 25th needs to realize, that was a line aimed squarely at collectors. Once the collectors had gotten what they wanted, they would pegwarm for weeks at a time. Kids just weren't buying them at all. In retrospective, I wouldn't be surprised if 75% of sales were to collectors and older fans. |

Ok, this is a little rant about people being skeptical about this movie. Ok, its not going to be an award winning flick.... who thought it would be. I expect it to be action packed, have goofy dialogue (like the tv show) and be a fun over the top movie. I would expect nothing less, yes you can complain about the costumes or some of the aspects they changed but dont complain about the actual concept... its GI Joe. The reviews on rotten tomatoes are from reporters and website creators.... hmm lets think people in their thirties and forties rating GI Joe.... of course they wont like it. I grew up with it, have the ppl in their twenties rate it. I dont want to hear anything of a review from someone who was not born when GI Joe was on the air as a tv show, or from someone who was already in their twenties when it aired. If you were born in the early eighties you will probably love it, if not oh well, go watch harry potter.

man all i can say is we will see how it does monday . yes ppl have said kids will eat it up. right now sales are good for roc as thats its something new and there is alot of it out. it will die out soon just like the 25th line did. as the stores around here have a bunch of them but all peg warmers now.
how is that they both are doing the same thing movie wise. just one was done with live actors the other not. this was not the first one to say that. |
