Those are all from Joe sites, trying asking a real movie critic:

__________________________________________________ _______________ "I was really surprised at how good this film turned out. It was fun and gives the next generation of G.I. Joe fans (you know the kids) a really cool updated look at "Our G.I. Joe." Destro - HISS TANK "I just got back from a midnight showing of the movie and have to be at work in 5 hours. Was it worth it? Oh yes, yes it was." Leonardo T Dragon - JOEBATTLELINES "G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA weaves an easy-to-follow tale of military operatives in the "not too distant future" who face off against enormous odds and shoot at each other with crazy guns for about two hours. If that's what you're expecting, then, damn, you're in for one hell of a ride." General Hawk - GENERALS JOES GI Joe the Rise of Cobra is a really, really entertaining movie. And every Joe fan should go see it. Josh Eggebeen - YOJOE.COM __________________________________________________ ___________ Or don't they matter? "Forget what some critics want you to believe. G.I. Just saw the movie, Lee Byung Hun was GREAT as Storm Shadow. Kept looking around in the PIT scenes to see what troopers we haven't seen in the toyline yet, and Hasbro can pump out a ton from just the PIT scenes alone.
I want to see more vehicles in the toyline, specifically larger ones. For example, a more movie accurate, bravo sized SHARC that can seat 2 people, an Echo sized Gunship that can seat 2 people as well, et al. It was cool seeing a lot of characters that I thought were just in the toyline, appear onscreen. That Cobra Eel with the helmet similar to the Elite Viper's is actually in the movie piloting a Mantis sub. Speaking of which, I hope we see bigger, accurate, 2 seat Mantis subs too. I do like how things are left open where a sequel almost has to be done. I also suggest reading the movie adaptation comic. I feel that the movie does a better job of showing all the action, but the movie adaptation comic does a great job at revealing a lot of the personal history and interactions between the characters. In that respect, both the movie and movie adaptation comic by IDW complement each other well. A huge revelation by Storm Shadow concerning the Hard Master, and other things are in the movie adaptation book. |

I LOVED it
I hated some of the deviations (mostly Baroness at the end)...but seriously, that was a GI Joe movie without a shadow of a doubt |

I've posted this several times. I just know I'm going to see a piece of crap. Listen if you like the movie more power to you, but from my perspective if only half of "Joe" fans liked it, then this movie is in BIG trouble already. I'm speaking of the collective societies view of the movie, which they think it sucks from what I have been reading. The only positive reviews are that it is a Big Budget popcorn fun ride where if you leave your brain at home you'll have a great time. Well you could say that for almost any movie that comes out in the summer, maybe I was hoping for a bit more.... |

Considering that the vast ammount of complaints seem to be it "isn't proper GI JOE", the compliments from 'just the fans' would have far more sway with me than the 'proper' critcs (the ones who tend to hate anything mainstream and popular, just to place themselves above the masses)

I just saw the movie and it was awesome. I don't think baroness is good though. I have a wierd feeling what she did at the end was to get inside headquarters. Still a great movie!
