It wouldn't have much of a place. Not much Joe could do against a Thanos or even a Dr. Doom, so the crossover aspect becomes limited or lost, which is most of the point of being in the MCU.

Daredevil is a blind guy who hits people with sticks.... he seems to do okay in the Marvel Universe.
Honestly... I’d like to see some more soldier types in the background of the MCU. I’m pretty sure they would have done better than the Wakandans against Thanos’ Outriders, who forgot they had ranged weapons after one volley and then broke formation from behind their shield wall to engage a charging enemy that had NO ranged weapons... Shit, the Roman army or Brits with Martini-Henrys would have probably done better than the Wakandans. Edit: before someone tells me the Wakandans have better tech...Yes, but Bucky and Falcon did okay against Thanos’ guys with a 5.56 LMG and a couple of 9mm machine pistols.

Ive said it before, back when I started my 'verse, and before Samsson started his Dio. The Joes would fit in nicely with SHIELD, Hydra, AIM, and The Hand. I use Fury Force in my 'verse as well.

As for the Wakandans' tactics...the Joes would forget/get overrun just as easily because drama. At best they get to "hold the door" to the big Wakandan research center before one of the Black Order either mows them down or sneaks past them. Either way Hollywood isn't going to make an exception to their rule of abandoning realistic tactics for drama and spectacle for GI Joe. Daredevil is a blind guy with built-in radar and superhuman senses trained from childhood by a Ninja master. Once again...not just "A blind guy with sticks" by any stretch of the imagination. If we're bumping up every Joe to the level of skill and ability as any "human" Marvel hero then we're running right smack-dab into the reverse problem of "Why do we even need the Avengers since GI Joe is an entire battalion of superheroes?" |

If youve noticed up to this point..I try to stay grounded in who the Joes have Come up against. Ive used as Sgt Major Haley stated..the lower tier guys..AIM, HYDRA, THE HAND, When Ive used a powered being like Captain Marvel..I showed bullets bounce of and her dispatch some COBRA troops pretty easy.Ive used guys as quick guest stars and so far Ive conveniently stated that the heavy hitters are A: OFF WORLD or B: Have something holding them back.. Be it Pepper being held hostage..etc. It can be done. Think of GI Joe would be the rescue team in Winter Solider that fought Batroc
( another Joe Level )threat. Those type missions wouldnt/ shouldnt be SHIELD

Marvel hinted that GI Joe was in the Marvel Universe on so many different levels. In an early issue, there are references to the Hulk and Thor. Also, since GI Joe and Transformers shared a universe and Spider-Man appeared in Transformers, then there's the natural assumption that all three share the same universe. Then in a later issue one of Metal Head's rocket launchers says "Stark Industries" around the lense.
So, yeah, I think GI Joe of the original Marvel run was definitely a part of the Marvel Universe. Jason |
