Bleh.
I wish G.I. Joe would get an early 2010s Marvel movie treatment with a fairly accurate origins story and spin-up that gets people stoked for a series of sequels. Adults get enough nostalgia and lore references to be excited, kids get great action movies that instill interest in going back and reading the comics and maybe picking up some 3.75" figures again. That's what this franchise needs. |

Anyone see the trailers for Bumblebee movie? Those Transformers has all their classic G1 designs. Why not G.I. Joe?
What G.I. Joe need is a live action TV Web series and has to be set in the 80s so the Joes, Cobra that include the Dreadnoks will have their classic ARAH designs. You Joe fans will be happy for that. I bet many of you Joe fans didn't like the way it look in two live action G.I. Joe films, I didn't like it. I prefer the designs of the characters that look back in the 80s like the toys action figures, in the comics and the cartoons as well. The only favorite characters I like are everyone of 1982-1986 mainly and I also like everyone of 1987, 1988-89. I still like the 90s G.I. Joes mostly the 1990 and 1991. 1992 G.I. Joes were ok. Not let's focus the the 80s G.I. Joes especially 1982-1985 that is good for a live action TV series set in the 80s then think about the G.I. Joes of 1986 and 1987 include 1988-1989. It doesn't matter if the new generation of kids are into electronics that does not mean they can't make new toys anymore. Toys are now for everyone of all age. What do you think? G.I. Joe need video game apps on iphone and ipads so the kids can look at them when they get on the iphone and ipad.

Those Divergent movies were terrible, in my opinion. But that probably falls more on the writer/producer, not necessarily the director.

Well, at least it wouldn't be directed by John Chu.

I enjoyed watching ROC and Retaliation. However, as G.I.Joe movies, not so much, because I would have wanted to see the Joes as they looked in the cartoon and 80s uniforms.
However, as a straight up action movie with no ties to G.I.Joe, I quite liked them. Here's hoping they do the same approach as they are using for Bumblebee.
