Is Ray Park still going to be Snake Eyes? I hope they give him a more practical military uniform with his iconic mask instead of the bulky armored, molded mouth or vented mouth helmet from the last two attempts.

God help me for saying this, but can we get a director who has at least fired a machine gun or rocket launcher in his life.

Count me in as another person hoping they take the nostalgia route. Doing a retro style movie would be step one, and then step two would be putting out the 80s toons for streaming. Myself, I’d have ‘em on YouTube for a year for free to drum up interest in the movie and hopefully reactivate a lot of latent memories from people’s childhoods, then move ‘em over to a major service like Netflix or Prime. (NOT a dedicated Hasbro streaming service. That’d be a terrible idea.)
As for the director, I don’t know much about his work, but props to the people commenting on it with actual knowledge. Can anybody add some detail? |

So I took a moment to watch the movie Red. Citizen Kane it wasn’t, but neither was it trying to be, and to be honest, I had fun.
Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, and Helen Mirren were the aging members of an Agency/MI6 group from the Cold War, all suddenly and inexplicably being attacked in their retirement by the Agency itself. So basically they have to survive, get the band back together, figure out what’s going on, and then stop it, getting to whoever ordered the hit before they’re gotten instead. And in the process they have to trust Willis’ new girlfriend Mary Louise Parker, an old Russian contact, Ernest Borgnine as Agency archivist, and see whether they can flip young gun Carl Urban over to their side. It’s got pretty good action, a good pace, and a good sense of humor, though obviously loads of the credit goes to the cast and writers. If you’re the type to flip out about a SWAT officer having chicken wings while holding an MP-5, you might be discouraged, but overall I’d say this director should be fine, if the materials he’s given are solid. Thanks for those clips too, skinny. |
