I saw an interesting article on Screen Rant today that asks if John Cena plays a G.I. Joe character in this winter's Bumblebee movie. They're pretty much basing that on the fact that he has a scar on his face, and is in the military. But I'd be fine with it if they made him Duke. They should have just had Josh Duhamel and Tyrese playing Joes to begin with. Here's the link for the whole article:

As bad as most of these movies have been, Paramount better hope customers show up to the theaters.

Very interesting article indeed. I know my kids would love it if G.I. Joe and the Transformers are linked.

That would be the best way to backdoor into a Joe movie. We should consider it a done deal? Not doing so would be kind of stupid. At minimum there should be a few Easter eggs to generate chatter.

Would be a smart move. This Bumblebee movie looks pretty good, tbh. Better than the most recent TF movies, and the Transformers look a bit more like classic Transformers than over-done robotic renders.

Doesn’t this movie take place in the 80’s? G.I.Joe should be at least mentioned, but it shouldn’t be tied to any of the characters that appeared in Retaliation or Rise of Cobra. These movies take place 30 to 40 years later.

Been hearing/reading nothing but positive things about Bumblebee. Us old dudes are finally getting the Transformers movie we’ve been wanting. Quote:
It’s like the sequel to Man of Steel. First one didn’t do so great, so let’s get Batman for the second one because “every body” loves Batman. The average Joe (no punt intended) knows G.I. Joe from Rise of Cobra & Retaliation. Having them in a Transformers Movie people will be like WTF? I read things on how people can’t grasp that Bumblebee takes place before Bayformers. Same thing happened with Fast & Furious Tokyo Drift that takes place after Furious 5 & 6

Says you.

Joe can’t make it on it’s own then don’t bother. It’s like the sequel to Man of Steel. First one didn’t do so great, so let’s get Batman for the second one because “every body” loves Batman. To be fair I have not been keeping up on Transformers related things. I have grown to almost resent them as I feel they are Hasbro’s new favorite and that is one of the reasons Joe has cast aside. Agree or disagree it is an opinion I hold. Nevertheless I do hope those that see the movie do enjoy it.
