Only a theory, but I think Hasbro is banking on a collectors' market that simply may not be there. Joe till now has sold extremely well, so they're banking on our "Gotta catch 'em All" mentality. It's a dangeous gamble, though, because if we're not willing to buy them, and kids parents aren't willing to, then it might hurt the line. Personally, I'm hoping it does get a bit of a bloody nose so Hasbro lightens up with the price-gouging down the road. I just bought a 1:18 scale Bradley, which is a lot more detailed than most Joe vehicles, for $15. Does Hasbro think they can charge $25 for a glorified Hummer?

Well, I like mine!
And I was relieved, mine is a dark grey/nearly black color. I was expecting it to be that weird blue/grey color I've seen in some pics. Maybe that was just a trick of the lighting. Overpriced? Yes, I'll agree with that. But not so much that I feel bad about it. I've actually thought for a while the Joe vehicles were surprisingly inexpensive compared to what BroJob charges for Star Whores vehicles. So as a Star Whores collector as well, I'm accustomed to paying $25 for ships the size of the Steel Crusher and Gunship and $40 plus for bigger ships like the Raven. |

yeah the toys are very expensive and not very interesting. I wish they would go back to making vehicles and figures that are more military than futuristic. Hell even transformers 2 had some pretty cool looking vehicles in it.

well when i bought the thing and it was in the box it was pretty cool and seemed worth the buck on the ride back home but when i got home and opend up the box and put this thing together the scale was way off compared to my other jets (it looks like a Transformer size jet)
For all of you considering this plane; if you were expecting a replacement for the vintage Night Raven, this ISN'T it. At best, it's an escort fighter that pays homage to the Night Raven. It's best not to expect it to come close to it, as it is so different and much smaller. If you buy this thinking it will be comparable to the vintage Raven you are setting yourself up for disappointment. If you wanted something to act as an escort fighter for your vintage Night Raven, then you might like this. It is about the same size as the Conquest X-30. The toy is decent but the size was a shock to me. Even if they retool this thing with rolling wheels and repaint it, I doubt I would buy another. I don't see myself buying another unless they make it twice the size. It has nice heft and I like the sculpt, however it is too small. |

My fear is if I wait that long the FEW things I do want will be near impossible to find.

That same thought has crossed my mind. So far the Night Raven has been the most plentiful vehicle. If i start seeing them going fast, i might pick one up before they are all gone...

I picked up the Night Raven at TRU for $29.99 using a $10 off rewards coupon. If and when TRU ever drops the price (which we all know hardly ever happens) my receipt will have expired for my purchase because they are only good for 45 days....no exceptions. That rules TRU out. When Target puts the ROC stuff on clearance (which we all know they will) I'm betting the first price drop will be about 20%-30%. That will drop the Night Raven down to about $28-$31 and change (plus tax) If at this time it can still be found on the shelf all the Tankers who held out due to price are going to make a mad dash to Target and buy them all up. I agree with most the gripes about the thing but It's better to have it then not have it (for me at least). So I should just be happy with the $29.99 I spent on it open it up and enjoy the damn thing
