Oh, I full well plan to stop by TRU on July 4th, even thought I don't have to work and the boss will want to know why I am there.

I grabed what i wanted and when they rung up the night raven the guy said he is very sorry but this stuff cant be sold till the 4th and that they have to take it all back as well as everything on the shelfs till then. He said they could be fined 2500 bucks per item if he sold it to me.

real easy to tell a retailer how to run their business when you have no stake in the repercussions, isn't it. how about you put your money where your mouth is, and whatever your job is, go in tomorrow and purposefully violate one of their contracts, which is what you are claiming TRU should do. see how that goes over. I mean, what's the big deal, right? contracts are stupid according to you, because that is all a street date is.

Anyone know if the July 4th date applies to Target?
Or is the "Official GIJoe ROC Headquarters" gonna lose out on all the collector sales (who damn well buy ASAP) to TRU?? Reminds me of the Transformes ROF street date nonsense. By the time WalMart Hourstbourne Lane unfurled it's "midnight release" I had already purchased everything they put out (except Soundwave) from Meijers a full 2weeks earlier. Of, course, Meijers did not exactly invite me to pluck cases right off the pallets weeks before the release date but I'm only human...

I just don't understand that. I understand about release dates but $2500.00 per violation? It just seems a little silly.

This is usually the result of an employee or a manager who actually cares about the reprocussions and thier jobs. I worked for best buy a fer years ago and they had a huge issue with Microsoft with Xboxes and Micrososft software. The software was pretty funny. Everyone knows about the Microsoft office student and teacher edition they used to sell? Well you were supposed to only sell that to people who were actually students or teachers and it was never meant to be sold to anyone other than someone who could verify (with crednetial sof thier instituation) they were a student or teacher. We sold it to whoever wanted it and never once got any back lash from Microsoft about it.
Microsoft threatned the same thing that there would be a $3000 fine per incident if verified and that they would pull product from a region of stores or cancel our partnership all together. It still continued and never did it ever happen. What is funny is the most recent version of this software was changed and now it is considered "Home and Student edition" and labled "For residential use only". So instead of making a huge scene about it Microsoft just changed it as they knew there was to much at stake to really do anything about it. Same thing applies here, I bet there are some TRUs out there that really don't care, but in this economy and unemployment situations I think most of them will abide by thier company values and hold this stuff per company mandate so they do not loose thier jobs or cost thier company money. Microsoft did actually do something about a whacked job some best buys were doing to pre-sale Xboxes back when they were first launched and over sold so many and pissed off a lot of people and Microsoft got really upset and best buy let go around 20 managers of varying levels and closed 4 stores till they rehired every employee. I had some friends who lost thier jobs because they did not speak up against what thier departments were doing and going along with thier managers. It's always a catch 22 with these types of things.
