Seeing as we're getting all of the planned waves by September. I'm not worried. Didn't Hasbro say two waves a month?
Plus, every store has ordered these up the wazoo. I think some of them will go on clearance. But I'm not betting on it. I also think a cartoon is coming very soon. It will be for the Fall of 2009. Last edited by Zoltron; 06-18-2009 at 01:26 AM.. |

I bet all the Storm Shadows, Snake Eyeses and all the girl figures will be long gone by the time clearance rolls around though. I only think the vehicles will be heavy shelf warmers.

who knows if a few movie commercials will draw interest in children to see the movie and thus buy the toys, so Hasbro can't wait for that. but a big toy section plastered with exciting images and cool toys will certainly pique children's interest. that will be the difference. while the 25th/ME lines were just another of many toys on the shelf with nothing to distinguish it from the others and generate interest, the type of shelf presence the line will have with Point-of-Purchase displays the retailers will have will make the toys stand out and force kids to take notice. generally, that is all it takes. and once they recognize the toys in conjunction with the commercials they see on TV, you have a complete marketing package. |

I don't think the RoC toys will bomb as badly as most of us are thinking. I might be a little optimistic but i'm sure Hasbro has done it research and is using a proven business model. Collectors might not be buying it(I know I won't be..), but hey they weren't aimed at us in the 1st place. I predict kids will eat up this stuff like the TF movie line. Or parents thinking their kids will enjoy it will buy it for them. Either way here's hoping for the best for the GI Joe brand.

I will pick up some - PIT commando, se, ss, and very few other figures for custom. The price will be a major factor here.

I can't believe its 25 for a medium sized vehicle. It could at least come with two figures. Maybe a Moto viper and one of those rainbow colored Neo vipers.

With the exception of the early 25th line, retailers and Hasbro have generally been pretty good about accurately placing GI Joe's sales projections.

At least Joe gets a figure. The Star Wars guys don't even get THAT!

Star Wars toys are so expensive. They should really start including a figure. But when they do that in the TRU exclusives, the vehicle jumps from 35$ to 50$. |
