I'm surprised that I didn't say Chris Evans in the Duke thread. He could also be Flint. However, Evans is going to stop making movies after his Marvel contract is up. In other threads, guys were saying that Dominic West should be Destro. He know he can do the American accent, so he can also can be Flint, Hawk, or maybe even Gen. Flagg. However, for Hawk, he'd have to die his hair. I'm sorry, my Clayton Abernathy has blonde hair. Of course it's only natural to think of Scarlett playing Scarlett because we seen her as Widow for the past few years, so we know that she can do that kind of acting. The thing is people know ScarJo as Natasha and the conundrum would be to differentiate a Russian ginger from a Southern ginger who basically does the same damn thing. Pedro Pascal as Shipwreck or Zap.

These are sort of respectable actors, no way we get any of them in another one of those crime against humanities that are the GI joe movies. Look to daytime soaps and vivid video for the quality of actors we will likely see in GIJ .

I still want Van Damme to play the twins. That's pretty much his specialty. Along with doing the splits.
And Tony Jaa to play Quick Kick. |

Shia Lebouf as Scoop if only he gets shot in the face in the first 4 seconds of the movie. (He's a terrible actor and an annoying character in every movie he plays.)
Christian Bale would be excellent as the Twins

The Transformers movies get some pretty solid actors in them and they have the same producers. So if they make the effort, they should be able to improve the Joe cast. We did get Bruce Willis in the last one and he's still a pretty big name. |

Before casting, they should think characters:
Roadblock, Flint, Lady Jaye can all be training all our favorites to make up the new Joe team: Recondo, Alpine, Bazooka, Quick-Kick, Beachhead, Snow Job, Torpedo, Gung-Ho, and Wild Bill. Ace and Doc can be on the team, too. Play up the characteristics, especially the dynamics between Alpine and Bazooka, and give Torpedo and Gung-Ho the SEAL/Marine rivalry that Leatherneck and Wet Suit had in the cartoon. Make Quick-Kick cocky/funny, Beachhead a humorless hardass, Snow Job a con man, Recondo can be a supernaturally talented survivalist, Wild Bill is a crazy cowboy. Then use their natural environmental specialties to dictate where the teams take the fight to Cobra. As long as the characters drive the action/settings with their talents, and have dynamic personalities, you can cast unknowns. Cobra can have Xamot/Tomax, Bludd, Snow Serps, Eels, and BATS (to kill endlessly/bloodlessly), and then Cobra Commander, Storm-Shadow, and whoever else they want to bring back to life. |
