So yeah I think the 1st movie was ok and the 2nd was utter shit..
Rather then continue to cry about it I thought Id start an open discussion of what we all think would make the best movie. Hasbro and Hollywood research this forum so lets help them instead of flaming them...trust me I have in the past...haha Ill start with 5 main points and throw more in later if you guys join in. Cobra: *Dreadnoks.. Every movie needs a colorful crew of bad guys, these guys are it + they could bring some English/Australian/Biker humor along for the ride..An Australian Biker Gang that Cobra funds and brings into the fold would be so sick.. *Vipers: What made the cartoon/comic Vipers so good was that there was so many of them with different looks and skills, BRING THIS BACK! You could get the most skilled Ex Army/Navy gone back, Ex cops, Young lost kids, terrorists that all join and aim to become a Viper of different types for different reasons. *Mercer: This guys story is so dope, so much you can do with it...could list 100 reasons and plots that can come from him. * Cobra La: Tie it in with all the reptilian race conspiracy's...nuff said story for years.... *Mercenary's: All the other colorful Cobras such as FireFly, Scrap Iron and the countless others....make them these worlds most wanted types... |

Reboot....NO!!! They just need to continue with the sequel. I loved the first film....I support Retaliation....they don't need a reboot. What they do need is to continue with what they have.
As for a SEQUEL - I agree that the Dreadnoks should be in the film. Ray Stevenson did a great job as Firefly....now they should have Major Bludd and the Dreadnoks. Earlier this summer, I suggested some of the same points you did. What would boost Cobra support is if the global governments fail to act if there's an international economic crisis...and I agree with you on Mercer...but I don't think Cobra La would work in the cinematic films. But what's so funny is that the people who hated the sci-fi of The Rise of Cobra, how would that base react to Cobra La?? |

Don't think they should reboot the movies yet, but I think a live action tv series would be cool and would give more opportunity for more characters

First off, I would like to say that the ROC movie totally sucked the big one and Retaliation was a bigger score with me than the ROC movie. At least we got to see CC in a suit and mask he wears, and FF was there too. So not I’m complaining about that.
Yes, I agree that Hasbro and Hollywood does need to do some research or like you said visit us here on hisstank.com and get the Real American Hero up on the big screen. However, to be honest I would be happy with Hasbro continuing GI Joe as a cartoon series. The reason I say that, it will cheaper than overpaid movie actors, plus we could see it weekly, not every two to three years and then never know who will be the next director or producer is? And as long as there is good writers involved, the cartoon should last for a while, and that’s why Hasbro REALLY needs to pick where Resolute or Renegades left off. There's PLENTY of ammo and information there to build off of each cartoon for Joe and Cobra! Or if Hasbro and then it don't need to be Hasbro, maybe another company should create a GI Joe cartoon and start their spin-off of that. All I can say, between the two cartoons I just mention, there's plenty of Joe action to keep us following for a long time. Dreaknoks: are cool, but I feel people who don’t know them won't understand their purpose, and how they tie in with Cobra. So a background introduction is needed about Zartan and his Dreadnoks. Either Vipers or the standard Blue Shirt of Cobra's army would be awesome to see on the big screen. Yes, the Combat ninja Trooper was pretty cool in the Retaliation movie, but still is not a Viper or a Blue Shirt. Mercer's story would be a great idea, but I feel instead of the big screen for this, it should really go into a cartoon and really draw from his history and background. Again, only true GI Joe fans know about Mercer and his ties with Cobra as an ex-Viper. Cobra-La - Not even gonna touch that one. Mercenaries: Can go in any direction, but for big screen it has to be tastefully done! Research each character and carefully brings them out in the story and out onto the screen, and make sure each Merc has ties with Cobra or even IG's to make the story unfold and leave room for more. |

SCREW LIVE ACTION MOVIES!!!
I want to see a Joe movie along the lines of what they did with the Clone Wars TV series. I'm so sick and tired of seeing fake computer-generated crap stitched into movies. Joe was most popular as a 'toon and should go back to being 'toon-esque.

If they go the animation route, I'd say yes. Would be the perfect opportunity.
But they will continue down the live-action route, so in that case, I'd prefer they just continue along that arc.

I really think Hasbro needs to bring GI Joe back to the animation world! Like I explained earlier, they can use Resolute or Renegades to build off of for all kinds of adventures for the Joe and Cobra. Hell, if TMNT can make a great come back with a cartoon pushing it right along on Nickelodeon, then why cant GI Joe? |
