I would really prefer Bay to stay as far away from GI Joe as possible. Too much over the top action scenes that you can't really see

It's because of the 2nd one that we got some pretty awesome action figures (Night Viper, Ult Cobra Commander, Ult Storm Shadow, Firefly from 3 pack). Michael Bay is too over the top with his special effects. Frank Miller is not a bad idea, given his work with Sin City.

While I am not a fan of how he deviated so far from the G1 cannon as well as look and feel of the Transformers, one thing cannot be disputed...those movies made BANK!!! And because so multiple Transformers toy lines live on and I get to spend mad $$ on Masterpiece editions of my favorite G1 characters and that makes me happy!!!
Now I say that to say this...would Bay make us hard core ARAH fans 100% happy...no way. Hell even among our own fan community some of us are 100% comic cannon vs 100% cartoon (personally I'm 70/30 comic/cartoon, lol) but I would wager that his take on GI Joe would make mad money anyways, meaning all of us ARAH fans would be getting plenty of love in the toy area. I'm talking everything from ME versions to new O-ring to more Sideshow 12"...everything we would want. And if you don't agree just think about how many times you've seen a brand new G1 Optimus Prime figure re-released in some fashion...just my 2 cents

What would be worse than Michael Bay is if it were directed by a guy that directs those horribly cheesy dance movies.

So I'm not totally sure if Bay selling a load of movie tickets would really be enough to get retailers to stock GI Joe toys when it was not a movie year. Sure Hasbro can make anything but retailers have to agree to stock it. Although the influx of cash from a successful GI Joe live action film might be that nudge to get a new cartoon series. |

I'm not so sure on the toy front about Bay moving movie toys. The first Transformers film, yea there were characters flying off the shelf, but each film after that it seems like more and more movie figures just sit on the shelves unsold. In the off years Hasbro will not even attempt the movie look.
