Falcon would be perfect…
and we don't need another Indiana Jones. Make some new characters people.

They should have had him play CHUCKLES, and it would have made perfect sense.

Dusty was the first character that came to mind for me....could totally picture Pratt screaming...".....no more!....i need gravity...." Now who would fit the role of the Fatal Fluffies? Lol

There's little doubt that he was probably auditioning for Duke.
We can talk about who he'd be good to play, sure, but gotta remember who was actually in the movies. The only other possibility is that he was auditioning for Flint in Retaliation, but that seems unlikely. |

I can only imagine the fan reaction if Chris Pratt (who to that point was purely a comedic actor, and overweight to boot) had been teamed up with Marlon Wayans for the first G.I. Joe movie. It would have been JoeFan apocalypse...
And if he auditioned for Retailation, I think The Rock was probably a better choice for pure star power. It's easy to say Chris Pratt is a star NOW, but he certainly wasn't then. |

In seriousness, I'm pretty confident he was up for Mouse. Explains why Chu glazed over. He already knew he was casting his boy, Mazzello. Ironic, since Chris got his part in the new JP!

No, they would not have auditioned replacement Dukes. Tatum was always coming back for part 2 at least (and was actually optioned for 3). If they wanted to replace Duke, they would have replaced him. Especially since Tatum's profile increased a huge amount between movies so he probably got paid a lot more for Retaliation despite having a smaller part.

It's funny to think that Pratt DID kill his opportunity in GI Joe and nearly killed GOTG due to being at a heavier 'beer belly' weight. Let's hope he can now keep the weight off- for the most part- and open up a few more action oriented roles for himself. He seemed able to trim down/bulk up for Zero Dark Thirty, but to go into in audition for something as all six packs and greased up muscles as GI Joe kind of made no sense.
