Yeah. That was the problem, 98% of us didn't like it. I hope everyone finally gets it at this point, though in 2013 we like as a whole to seem open-minded and willing to accept any drek that comes our way, what the fan base really wants is for the lore of yesteryear whether it be comics, cartoon, other media us 20-40 somethings are familiar with, well,.... what we want is to have that regurgitated on to the screen, not some new "dynamic" thing that is intangible or unrecognizable that is designed by hollywood to sell toys and pretend to be doing it for the "children" rather than cater to their over rated egos. P.S. When I say "we", all anyone has to do is read the endless posts that sway towards G.I. Joe/Transformers, some versions of Marvel Movies, that there are many many un-happy campers out there. I'm not talking in absolutes btw, Troynos you for example have been VERY vocal on how you accept rise of cobra, and Jmaq1 also, but I'm hoping you realize it wasn't what the majority wanted at that time. It was... good action... but was it G.I Joe, ....? Baroness turning good? I think I may have thrown up in my mouth at that point.

Looking forward to the extended cut if it fixes the plot. Otherwise, I'll watch it on cable.

It was a train wreck, it can't be fixed, repaired, etc. The only thing you can do is prevent train wrecks in the future from what you've learned after you figure out what caused the last train wreck.

It wasn't as bad as some of you make it out - but it was apparently cut and edited quite a bit (or so we assume). CC had a minor role - was basically unnecessary. Zartan could have carried out the plan without him, apparently - as CC had little to do in the movie but look kind of cool.
Understand clearly that the movie was primarily to make money but secondarily to move the franchise in a new direction without a complete reboot. I'm pretty certain that the director was forced to make concessions all over the place to get this movie made. Length of the movie, special effects used, size of the cast, etc. all likely were compromises with Paramount to get the movie made. And it did its primary objective - made lots of money, as well as its secondary objective. Like I said, it wasn't a bad movie; it wasn't great either. It was flawed in execution but it showed enough moments that it will be interesting to see what was taken out that might have connected some of the dots.

I've watched the extended version about 3 times now and I like it much better than the theatrical cut. That said it's still not a great movie. Here's a couple of screen caps of scenes that stood out to me. The Jinx training scene was much longer and there was a lot more dialogue by RZA. He was pretty much talking during the entire training sequence.
The second is from a really cool quick scene that happens after roadblock blows up firefly. My memory is terrible, but I don't believe this was in the theatrical cut. Storm Shadow hands Jinx his sword and turns to face Snake Eyes. They both give each other a long hard look and then SS walks away. I watched it a couple of times and it leaves me with the impression that there's some unfinished business between them two. |

That last scene with Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow is pretty much just how I remember it in the theater. Maybe it's a different or longer cut of it though.
