that's a pretty tough poll, in all truth.
i'd much rather have the classic characters and have them at least visually resemble their counterparts. this movie does almost none of that, and CC is a testament to that fact.

I think Snake Eyes is too buffed imo...Ninja's should be somewhat slim...
IMO Mark Musashi would be a great stunt actor for Snake Eyes, he did some fluid stunt work in Kamen Rider The First. |

I chose updated characterizations with classic-inspired uniforms.
As far as a toy line goes, "classic-inspired" aesthetics will be the selling point, more than the story behind them, I believe. Do that many kids read the backs of the boxes? I think "Cool" looking toys will be what sells, and those will sell well. I think the dull, all-black figures won't be selling as well, but the completely new designs that look nothing like anything familiar won't sell that well, personally, even if there are "classic" characterizations behind them. I could be proven wrong though. Last edited by Mandingo Rex; 03-30-2009 at 03:23 AM.. |

Classic characterization but new look. If the line can survive the "neon 90's" then I think a change of uniforms is less destructive.

I went with New characterization but classic look. At least let it resemble something somewhere somewhat somehow what it originally looked like. I'm still going to see this movie but I don't like the new CC especially, but maybe after we see the movie opinions will/might change for alot of us on here. I hope the movie does well along with the toy line. I just can't believe all of the complaining about this and that, yes there are some things about the movie line I don't like but at least we are getting a live-action movie this time and more new toys to go with it. There is a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow(movie line), it's a different outcome for everyone and not everyone will like everything, that's what opinions are for right?

Oh hell if I know after reading that logic I just posted, so I deleted it.
The movie's such a cramming-together of two styles that don't seem to mesh well, it's fried my mind. |

Indeed a tough choice, but I'd have to stick close to the old characters. The focus on the characters is what kept G.I. Joe from being just another generic soldier toy line and was what drove the success of the comics as well. Joes and Cobras have had there look updated before in the toy line from year to year, but Snake Eyes is still cool, because even in a new uni, its still Snake Eyes.
