Alright so I was thinking about how awesome it is that we are getting the GI JOE EAGLEHAWK when I started wondering...what if Snake Eyes jumps out of it and kicks ass? The back of the box implies that it's inspired by the movie or whatever.
That didn't leave me thinking that it IS in the movie, BUT it reminded me...Chu an co often mention that Retaliation features a [b]SILENT INTERLUDE/b] homage. I think for a lot of people, the extent of Snake Eyes' ninjustu could've stopped at issue #21. That issue was bad ass. Storm shadow kidnaps Scarlett, Snake Eyes does a HALO drop into Castle Destro or wherever that was, KICKS A WHOLE LOT OF ASS, and rescues Scarlett. So everything I just mentioned above probably doesn't happen in Retaliation except maybe the HALO drop and the ass kicking. How bad ass do you think it will be, and how close do you think it will be? I wonder if it will even appear familiar, and if it would to those that did not hear Chu and Bonaventura chime on and on about how it homages Silent Interlude? |

So i believe the "homage" will be in the form of the cliffside battle we've already seen in the trailer. Snake and Jinx are caught at the temple and make their escape down the side of the cliff. Easy to do a "silent" battle from this sequence of scenes. The homage does not have to be directly from the original material, but enough for fans to recognize it. Case in point, cameos by Stan Lee in the Marvel movies or Lou Ferigno (spelling?) in Hulk playing a security guard.

Yes, that scene is confirmed 2 be an homage based on the silent Issue, by Ray Park, himself. Back in November, I went 2 the "Nuke The Fridge Con" in the City of Industry in L.A. and met him. He was signing autographs and I brought my graded issue #21 along with a few other things 4 him 2 sign, and he mentioned how it was really cool, because he had never seen an original #21 graded before and I asked him if it was true that the mountain scene was an homage 2 that issue and he said yes it, and it's a really cool scene. I had a total nerd moment during all this because I had never met him before and he is playing my all time favorite fictional character on the big screen. Lol. One of these days I'm gonna post up the pics I took with him and the stuff he signed. Coolest guy ever. He literally spent almost 5 mins just talking 2 me and signed 3 different items. Anyways, yes It is an homage and I think it's basically the same as the comic, except he's probably not gonna helo drop and it won't be Destros castle. It will be the Arashikage temple or whatever and he will be kidnapping Storm Shadow instead of rescuing Scarlett. And yes, assess will be kicked, aplenty, by Snake Eyes and Jinx.

Haha.. Well I used 2 be the jealous one for the longest time because I would see all these people talking about how they met him and he was so cool, etc.. Now I finally got 2 meet him and be one of the people that can brag about meeting him and what a great guy he his and how well he treats his fans. The line wasn't real long but it still took almost 2 hours 2 finally get 2 the front because he takes so much time talking to and taking pictures with his fans, so I couldn't complain about that at all.

We've basically seen the end of that scene thanks to the Hansel and Gretel 4 minute preview. How he drops in there might be bad ass. Maybe it's from transport jets the Joes are flying in. A HALO drop would be awesome, I remember in the issue the odds were basically against a successful infiltration but he went and did it anyways. |
