The green ooze should work with the Nickolodeon crowd.
If there really is green ooze in the trailer I may have to quit reserving my judgment. |

I'm thinking it'll be more along the lines of a cloud of gas, some kind of chemical weapon.

To which Zartan replies, And the huge blob of green slime falls from the heavens, destroying the Eiffel Tower. I would sing this movie's praises until the end of time. In fact, I hope this would be followed up by John Turturro saying, "Would you look at that, Eiffel Tower, destroyed by green goo. Isn't that crazy, Bumblebee?" To which Bumblebee would respond by pissing all over him. |

I'm not supporting the decisions they've made for this movie. I don't like the script, haven't been a fan of the cast or the costumes, but this is a GI Joe MOVIE, not just some Saturday morning cartoon. I'll go see it, twice, just because they're making a GI Joe movie. You can support something without liking it. |

You can, but. . .why would you? If they painted a piece of poo in chrome paint and called it Destro, I wouldn't buy it. . .or would I?

Its your constant negative opinions that are putting people to sleep lol.
Ignore any person or persons claiming to be an adult(s) that has, as yet, been unable to master the very basics of grammar and punctuation. If you see a post that's essentially a huge string of poorly-spelled words (or the wrong words entirely, of course) conjoined by about 30 periods at a time, it's best to simply move on. That will solve a good 68% of your Internet woes! I'm cautiously pessimistic about the Joe movie, myself. By that I mean that I intend to see it, and I'm really wanting it to be a good update, but that I'm fully prepared for it to suck hard. Like with Transformers, referenced in this thread so many times already, all I want is a good movie. Transformers was a good movie. I wish the giant robots looked a touch blockier (to help distinguish them, if not to make them look more like the Transformers I grew up with), and I have plenty of other nitpicks and issues. But overall it was an enjoyable film. I want G.I. Joe to be an enjoyable movie, even if I have a veritable boatload of more minor issues and complaints. Even if it sucks, it can be a movie I'll enjoy and that kids will enjoy. The Masters of the Universe movie was TERRIBLE. But even as a kid that was a HUGE fan of He-Man, I actually liked the movie, and still do. Our much-loved cartoon movies were piles of crap that we, largely, only love so much because of nostalgia. "It's a cartoon, like the cartoon! So it was at least better than this crap is gonna be" is simply the wrong attitude to take, in my opinion. When I think of some of the films that defined their genre, my generation even, in one way or another, I come up with a laundry list of really BAD movies that many of us LOVED. Just.. terrible pieces of garbage. Krull Legend Beastmaster Masters of the Universe Conan the Barbarian Those were terrible and wonderful movies. G.I. Joe could become one of those sleepers. It's so bad that it's good. It unexpectedly, perhaps, defines a property or genre for a whole new generation. Even if we hate it, which would be unfortunate, maybe 20 years from now the 'Tank will be brimming with 28 year old guys who fondly remember "The first live action Joe movie, which introduced them to G.I. Joe!" You don't know, it can happen. And hell, it could even be a damn fine movie, whatever faults it may end up having. I know of few perfect adaptions. Even 300 and Sin City had faults (however few), and those were terrific adaptions of their source. But Rise of Cobra isn't an adaption, it's a new vision or an old property that could very well define G.I. Joe (in a good way) for a new generation. I'm willing to give it a chance. At the least, I hope it turns out to join the list of absolutely terrible movies that I just love to watch. I'm looking at you "Deep Evil" and anything else Lorenzo Lamas has ever done. |

The intended audience is the 8 to 12 year old boys that they can make become Joe addicts. What sucks is that we have a good 6-9 months more of "this movie will suck" to deal with. I love Legend, one of my all time favorite movies. Beastmaster is great, what a fun movie. Conan is awesome, another fun movie.

That's an easy fix, man. There's something I've learned in my years playing around on this strange 'Internet' doohickey; it's a well-guarded secret that I'm going to let you in on:

This is without a doubt the best movie related post I have ever read. Anyone with even half a brain cant deny the logic in that post.

Why?
I don't think I've ever seen you give reasons why it's going to suck. At least Spacemonkey gives some reason why. And saying "Marlon Wayans as Ripcord" isn't a reason.
