and The sunbow cartoon without code names is just another random 80s crap cartton. and the comic without the GI Joe logo and code names is just another random comic about some sci fi special ops team. people need to get over the hate for the movie, it is acceptable, it isnt eveyone GI Joe but not everyone has the same taste, I may enjoy watching the cartoons for nostalgia, but man are they stupid. and dumb. |

Either way, I had to pay for it, therefore I should be able to use it when I choose.

They include commentary "Why this movie is only worth $5.00?"

I still think the exact right tone and style for a G.I. Joe movie was done in True Lies. Just take out the "civilian" Jamie Lee Curtis character and replace her with a Joe female. The lighthearted, sometimes slightly campy humor, the wisecracks and one-liners, and the over-the-top villains and action are what I expect from G.I. Joe. I don't want a hard-edged, gritty techno thriller like The Matrix in a G.I. Joe movie.
I like the idea that the villain is a laughable boob who you're happy to see die but just as happy to laugh at and see humiliated. And I like the weird, colorful characters that show up like the mad scientist and Charlton Heston in an eye patch. And the stuff with climbing on and off the Harrier jet at the end is pure G.I. Joe-style action that seems based on reality but is probably impossible to do in real life. |

I agree on how the tone from True Lies would be perfect for a G.I. Joe Movie.

I hate to have to defend the movie, because it could have been better. But, it wasn't that bad. And I bought the Blu ray off of EBay for 5 bucks myself.
