GIJOE NEWS AND TIDBITS
Sgt. Slaughter, one of WWE’s most beloved Superstars of the 1980s, was also a celebrity spokesman for Hasbro’s G.I. Joe toy line and cartoons after leaving WWE. Hasbro has contacted him again to be a spokesman for the G.I. Joe line and he attributes notoriety like this to his role as a WWE Legend. “Whether I do a G.I. Joe movie or John Cena does ‘The Marine’ movie, it’s all getting us out there in different avenues and letting people see a different part of the WWE Superstars, the Legends,†he said. Written: August 31, 2006 http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/archive/sgtslaughter247 I know that Hasbro signed a deal with Roddy Piper this year (another WWE Legend) and made a custom figure of him as Destro's Iron Grenadier Trainer. Piper was also at this years Joe Convertion as a spokesman. Not sure, but, my bet is the WWE will have a movie tie-in as they do for several storylines. Hopefully it will only be a classic GIJOE vs. Cobra Match at Survivor Series - Sgt. Slaughter vs. Roddy Piper I cant see these guys being in the Movie, but, after Robert Remus was quoted as saying "Whether I do a G.I. Joe movie" and not to mention Piper has been on the big screen numerous times? - Kinda scares me...what do you guys think? |

I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the movie as a cameo.

It depends on how gay they want to movie to be. I despise WWF or any wrestling at all. I could see him as cameo but probably alot of people wouldn't know why or who he is.

I think he should be some sort of General or a Juggler in the background.. but it would be awesom if he said "You're dismissed, Maggotts."
I know people have a problem with the Sarge but he was a part of The Gi Joe franchise and I really liked him on the show, he was kinda superheroish. But he should not be a featured member of the team. |

Movie, a cameo I would love. Who didn't get a giggle from the placement of the yellow VW bug in the new TF movie. I could use a laugh at the Sarge's expense.
The Sarge getting the 25th treatment, he damn well better. Cheesy, wrestler, fake, blah blah whatever. Here are the facts: -Immensly popular part of the 80's cartoons/toys -The man delivered some good one liners -I still remember his wrestling match with that fat Shiek dude -If Stupentor, downfall of GI Joe reality got 25th then Sarge better-at least he can prove his lineage -That Hasbro 25th Custom Sgt Slaughter was HAWT! |

I really think the Sarge should get a cameo. He shouldn't be part of the main team. He's getting a little old, and a drill sergeant going out and fighting so much was a little silly anyway.
But he needs to have a little cameo, maybe at the end of the movie, they could have a little shot of him training some new recruits. Man, if I get to see the Sarge whipping some maggots into shape in this movie, I will completely geek out. |
