I strongly believe the Movie will follow the origin as it states. Hasbro will deliver a 170 Million Dollar classic battle between G.I.Joe and Cobra - what more as a Joe fan could we possibly want!!!.
Brian Goldner has a tight grip on the Joe brand and would not let anything waiver, we dont have to worry about them changing things - it wont happen. G.I. Joe's new acronym of being International, I believe is being thrown out of proportion by other sites and reporters. If we stop to think, they did mention the Joes based Stateside at The Pit - this is confirmed by Hasbro (the only mouth we should listen too). Wouldn't they have to be declared Global if they were to invade Castle Destro in Scotland? or meet with the Oktober Guard in Russia? or have special missions that cultivate the storyline based in every corner of the world. G.I. Joe is the Code name of America's highly trained special mission force - it's purpose - to defend human freedom against Cobra...human freedom is a large statement - it's opening lines for the past 25 Years. Have they strayed away from the origin - absolutely NOT!!! International Joe is a Go - afterall, they are only highlighting what they already stand for. The Baroness casting has been confirmed - Sienna Miller will do absolutely fine. We are heading in the right direction fellow Joe Fans!!! When I realized it - I took a deep breath Does anybody see the International thing as a good thing now? |

tThey are an American highly trained special mission force...! thats what people want.. of course they operate all over the world.. thats not the problem people have.. its the fact that they were gonna change GI Joe into some Brussels based International special teams unit... that would ruin the whole Joe legacy..

I’m going to repeat what I’ve said before…I AM NOT hopeful about this movie in the slightest…
Only time will tell but I still feel at best we will get what we got with the Transformers movie…fancy, hype driven fluff. TF looked amazing and Peter Cullen was great but the story was completely raped, Megatron was raped and it became a “look at me…I’m a fancy CG robot transforming in slow-motion…oh, and make sure to plug eBay 100 times†Michael Bay fest… TF wasn’t a complete loss but like many fans I felt it could have been 1000% if placed in the hands of a true TF fan (writer AND director). Realistically, I’d be willing to bet the Joe film will be OK…not what the fans really want but some 60% of it. I’ M sure the plot will be cheesy, the acting will be nothing like we hope it will be and Cobra will in no way live up to the fans expectations. In other words…want some amazing Joe fiction? Skip the film and keep reading fan written books and comics… |

Let me ask you all something? Do you plan on seeing this movie?
I mean, I read about so many fans who just p*ss and moan about this that or the other thing.........but seriously? You know that your going to go........ Just let go and enjoy the ride........hell, if the soundtrack is kickin' (like the TF one was)......then that's cool!!

Based on the little amount of acurate information we know about this movie, the only problem I see is that Sienna Miller looks a bit young (But that can be changed with makeup)
It can't be any cheesier than Snake-Eyes dressed up like Boy George or breakdancing while Shippy does the can-can |

You do realize that you are part of a minority group bashing the transformers movie! hype driven fluff? huh? Most people loved it and the hype is called advertising. What did you want a total remake of the cartoon? Of course they make movies differently with a giant budget, I doubt they will be thinking Ebay when filming.

People confuse popularity with quality?
Explain again how a 200 million dollar budgeted film starring giant robots fighting won't be popular? Anyway, I am optimistic about this movie. I haven't heard Sommers come out and say that he hates GIJOE like Michael Bay did to TF. So that is a good sign right?

As much as I don't trust Sommers, I foresee we're in for a big surprise.
While it won't make as much money, I'm betting the G.I.Joe film will be far superior than Transformers as a film. And much more faithful to its sources, too. I've a good feeling about this. All the scary early rumors about Action Man, Cool Dude, the Joes based in Brussels, etc, have been dismissed. Hasbro themselves have claimed that the film will be classic G.I.Joe VS Cobra and the latest plot synopsis sounds really good: “From the Egyptian desert to deep below the polar ice caps, the elite co-ed GI JOE team, based from it’s headquarters The Pit, deploys the latest in next-gen spy and military equipment to fight crooked arms dealer Destro and the growing threat of the mysterious COBRA organization from plunging the world into chaos.†Even the casting of Sienna Miller as the Baroness is surprisingly interesting. And, certainly, having Ray Park as Snake Eyes is like a dream come true for many a fan.
