Tough call on this one......
Agreed though, hitting the gym is a MUST! However, whether you love him or hate him, you can't deny that he is a permanent fixture in the 'verse........and a cameo keeps everyone happy. ;)

I think a brief cameo would be a nice touch, as long as they kept it brief (under 10 secs, maybe a single line).

Gods I hope not - I hated Sgt Slaughter as a kid, or Sgt Slammer as he was called in the Action Force dub. He's a character who rendered the rest of the team redundant throughout the second series of the cartoon.

I'd like to see him in a cameo (perhaps a high ranking official, you know, an ol warhorse.

Sgt. Slaughter would drive people away from the theaters and the movie would go to video in a matter of weeks.

I don't think the Sarge should have a big role in the movie as he did in the cartoon, but a cameo would be pretty awesome.
But he does have to hit the gym, even for a cameo. Also, Sgt. Slaughter has to play Sgt. Slaughter. If they want some other guy dressed up as the Sarge, they might as well not have the character in there at all. |

Sarge is the only true life figure to appear in the comics, toys, and cartoons, it would be a super badass idea to include him in the movie. we have all these people " pretending " to be gi joe characters, but sarge actually IS A REAL GI JOE CHARACTER and not too include him would be a big mistake imo, even if its just a sequence of him traininbg joes at the pit, and longer than 10 seconds, give him at least as much time as they gave admiral " its a trap " ackbar

A cameo for the Sarge would be awesome. I'm not talking about having him co-star with Duke and Hawk, just a quick 1-minute scene when we first see the Pit.
Something like this: Sarge is screaming at some new recruits as they're going through their drills. Duke walks up to the Sarge and asks him how the new bunch is doing, and the Sarge says "PATHETIC!" One of the new recruits, who looks like he's going to puke from the workout, takes it personally and looks a worried. Duke laughs and pats the new recruit on the back and says, "Don't worry, soldier. He thought I was pathetic too." Sarge butts in and screams "YOU ARE PATHETIC!" Then blows his whistle and screams "BACK TO WORK!" and continues torturing the new recruits. Duke chuckles and walks away. Every army movie needs a good screaming drill Sargeant, and Slaughter's still got the voice, so that's all that matters. By the way, he's in pretty good physical condition these days. He lost a lot of weight since he retired from wrestling, so it's not like he'd be embarrassing himself. Plus battle fatigues hide a lot of flab. |
