Now on to my reply. Other than the fact that some of the visuals are different how do you know it isn't based on the first 155 issues? Sure some things are changed like nationality of some of the Joe team. But guess what else is different. The world we lived in 25 years ago as opposed to the world we live in today. Lets face it in a post 9/11 world the rules of the military have changed. Do you want the film set in the 80's? If so then we would have something to agree upon. But the truth is that would not appeal to the next generation of Joe fans who will carry on the legacy of the franchise.

Think about this. How old were you when you discovered GI Joe? Have you considered the people who were your age now at that time thinking that your little comics and figures that were a third the size of THEIR GI Joe was an abomination? How is RAH the true spirit of GI Joe when it was a REVAMP of the franchise? The story has changed to fit the world we live in today just as GI Joe changed from the 12'' to the RAH to fit the world of the 80's and changed to VvV and S6 to fit their time as well. The movie will reflect the times. I would recommend that you get out of the past and step into today's world. If you want to relive what you grew up with then read the comics. If you want to open your mind and give this film a chance then pay the price for your ticket. If you want to continue your bitching then add something fresh. Otherwise put an end to your regurgitated babble and stop trying to bait other members into a fight.

Well echo I agree that things must change, but I mean they needn't change so drastically. In the punisher movie..his origin was in desert storm not vietnam...would that have been that much of a stretch to have SE, SS, and stalker having that kinda history instead of making SS a korean, SE a frenchman and not even having stalker? And the whole thing with baroness and DUKE engaged then him leaving her? and ripcord a black guy? was doc or stalker not an available option? and breaker? Theres just too many changes for the sake of political correct BS for me to be able to accept this as a GI JOE inception.

one of the two marines who found the two officers trapped in the WTC was black. Yet both were white in the movie. Tombstone (one of the greatest westerns of our time) was filled with historical inaccuracies from both Morgan and Virgil being shot in the same night to the way Ringo was killed. What about the other two Earp brothers? Oh I know, what about Band of Brothers. Great mini series that some of the men who were there said was not completely right. I'm a huge fan of Deadwood but quite a bit of that was pure crap and completely untrue. Do the things that were changed make any of these less interesting or entertaining? I don't think so.

Well it isin't Steven Sommers either. Sure it is now, but he is just a hired hand paid to do with it what he will. Sure Hasbro has it's say as well, but Hasbro didin't even know how much we loved Optimus Prime when they killed him off in the Transformers movie.

Sure we my get an bone thrown here, and there (slideshow collectables, 25th line) and I'm fine with that.
I'll enjoy my retirement.

I realize most adults don't play with toys anymore. So I accept that I/We are in the minority, and that toys, and toy movies are , and ought to be for kids.

I won't like the new movie, but I didin't like Hulk, Iron Man, or any other kid/toy movie that came out recently either.

well at least you are going into this with an open mind. Your personal taste is just that, yours. Just as your opinion is yours. It has been made. That simple. Look, I'm open to a good debate but what I'm not open to is bashing from people who approach things with a closed mind. It is very much possible that the movie may be the worst thing to ever be placed on film. It could also be the most enjoyable film ever made. I don't know. All I know is what pics I've seen and what little bit of rumors I've read. I don't see where that is enough to make a judgement on the total film as of yet.
