Maybe if some fans realized that people are allowed to like more than one interpretation of a character, we'd have a lot less conflict here on the site.
More on-topic, I liked the old Zartan just fine, even if it never made sense to me why a guy with his skillset spent his time hanging around a bunch of moronic, borderline-incompetent bikers. So: Zartan fan yes, Dreadnok fan no. Move Zartan, however, was on a whole different level. Vosloo took what was a small role and nearly stole the show with it. In fact, I would say that RoC did for Zartan what Resolute did for Cobra Commander: It gave him credibility as a truly threatening, badass villain. In case you haven't noticed, "attitude" takes a distant back seat to "looks" in the minds of several posters here. |

You must prefer Michael Keaton as Batman, then.

I agree with most of what you say, but I don't think Zartan needed any credibility. In the Marvel run he was completely a badass, and probably the most competent villain.
There is definitely the question though, which ARAH version of Zartan is the original poster talking about. Because in the cartoons, yeah there wasn't a whole lot to Zartan, but in the comics he was a key character. |

Thats what I think too. He shoudlve showed up in the beginning all dressed up with ragged gear and a hood. Then sent on mission to become a whole different person. In the movie, he just dressed in different suits...no make-up or any type of special effets...until the nanomites appear and he becomes the president...I think he shouldve been meaner and more violent. Not just pransing along whissling...

Casting was good. Scripting and character direction were bad.
