thanks frostbite, i keep all my pamplets downstairs in my "library" (toilet). i love reading all these exclusives and promotions they had back then. i remember saving bucks and flag points to replace things i wore out. hasbro had great ways of getting rid of stock back then.
my men's room toilet, btw, faces my customizing work bench downstairs, it's very inspiring! |

my men's room toilet, btw, faces my customizing work bench downstairs, it's very inspiring! Hasbro and other toy companies seem to have definitely lost the "spark" they all had in the 1980s. I remember vividly going to places like Zayre and Children's Palace, and having no freaking idea of what I wanted because there was just so much to choose from. Mom would allow something simple like 1 action figure. How does a kid limit himself to just 1 GI Joe action figure in 1985 given how many different cool toys were on the shelves back then? It was such an amazing childhood. The good stuff today is scarce, and the aisles themselves are clogged with "wrestlers," Power Rangers and other junk that will be worthless 10 years from now. Back in the day, man. Back in the day. |

he's a great cat actually, i lined up all my troops before i put them on my cabinet, on the floor. i left the room and came back and found him crawling through them, he saw me as i came in and gracefully walked thru them without dropping a crimson six shooter. that's a sure-footed manuvre. he doesn't bother the shelves, but he does puke on the couch.

Well, I like your cat because he seems cool. I also hear you about today's toy lines. Star Wars has seen some dramatic improvements over the years, and I love the Indiana Jones and GI Joe lines. Too bad the Transformers is such a disappointment. I am not a fan of the (100% Plastic) Spider Bots at all. I remember my robots having die-cast metal mixed into their plastic molds, and every Autobot tire was made out of rubber, darn it!!!! Darn tootin', I am old!!!! |

last pic fo' the night, top shelf liquor #2: It takes me back to Christmas 1984. I was six years old, and the proud owner of that warbird with the "Red Baron" as Dad called him. Still have the bird and Wild Weasel, too. Have a good evening!!!!!!!!! |
