That guy was an idiot, and his wife was a crazy bitch. You don't spend serious money on anything without consulting your spouse first. You also don't conduct a murder suicide because your spouse spent all the money/ran up all the credit cards. One more time: husband = idiot...... wife = crazy bitch.

Sad, but I know exactly how it feels. I racked up a huge debt when I first got back into Joe collecting. As some of you may remember, I actually sold off my vintage collection a few years ago. I was addicted and couldn't stop.
My wife (not wife yet at the time) told me I had to sell the collection to pay down the debt. Unfortunately, most were bought when the Canadian dollar was low and when I sold them, the Canadian dollar was high so I didn't even cover half the debt after selling. Thanks to my wife, I managed to get out of that and she helped me with the debt. That's why if you notice, all I ever do is trade on the HISStank and hardly ever buy from anyone and when I do buy, it's cause I sold something and have Paypal funds. It's really fun getting the rare figure or vehicle, but at the end of the day, you pay for it if you don't have self control (like me). I basically bought almost the entire line of Joes (and rare international ones too) over the span of 2 to 3 years along with huge armies. Even Curtis from GijoeHQ was questioning how I was able to buy everything that I bought off him. I still love Joes, but like I said, I aquire mostly through trading and a little side money that I have and do not go on Ebay to buy anymore. Addictions are not fun at all. It also wasn't just G.I.Joe, I bought 12" stuff and Star Wars as well during that time. I even had a spare room that was all my Joes displayed and with the Terrordrome, Flagg and Defiant in there, I barely had room to walk in that room.

More pics of the collection. Walking away might now have been an option he racked up $30,000 + in credit card debt for this.

These lines make it sound like a gag article...
"It’s not immediately clear whether the collection included generation one characters or the Twenty-fifth anniversary editions." "“The real issue now though is what will happen to this collection which by all accounts is massive and probably worth quite a bit. There aren’t any children to take the collection so ironically it may end up on EBay again, ready to tear apart another family.”" "EBay reportedly has no plans to limit sales of G.I. Joe figures and had no comment on the deaths." |

Well, those pics of the afa and sealed items are from finalfrontiertoys.com before they re-did their website. They are from MN and I actually talked to the owner about all the stuff he bought.
I know I have seen that USS FLAGG pic somewhere but cant recall. The Ebay user name from the article dosent exist on Ebay anymore. |
