I just saw this with my wife last night. We had it DVR'd so we were a bit late to see it, but as soon as they got to the Toy Store, my wife started asking what each of the toys was. I thought it was pretty awesome when they got to the APC and Slugger, though.
You'd think by '85 Joe owuld have been popular enough in that store to rate a better location than on a shelf under some die cast planes, though?

You could just see the edge of a third set of boxes to the left. It was the FANG Copter.

Saw this the other night on Fringe. The episode takes place back when Peter Bishop is a kid in the 80s. His mother (from this dimension ) takes him to a toy shop and look what is sitting on the shelf... a couple of Sluggers and APCs!

You'd think by '85 Joe owuld have been popular enough in that store to rate a better location than on a shelf under some die cast planes, though? stuff could shelf warm for longer in the 80s, especially if the price was marked up too much and it was smaller stores. this seems to be the case in this shop since in 1986 they still have Battlestar Galactica stuff, along with Real Ghostbusters (started in 86) but not Transformers. i bought a new Moray in spring 1989 along with a lot of 85-86 figures from a Ben Franklin in a small town in southern Illinois. i left another Moray on the shelf which wasn't there 3 months later. - |
