Hey all
What is your experience with the GIJCC and their shipping charges/practice. I ordered some figures from them for the first time last week. The invoice stated that shipping was only $7.83 by priority but my cc was charged $11.33. I emailed customer service to inquire about the price difference. The box was a free USPS priority box and there was minimal packing paper inside, so handling should not have been much. The customer service agent had the nerve to tell me the box was not free and that they had to pay for it. I sell on Ebay and use those USPS boxes all the time and know for a fact that they are offered free of charge by the PO. I wouldn't have minded so much if she had jsut told me the difference was an all-inclusive (and excessive) handling charge, but the fact that she lied (I am open to the possibility that she is merely ignorant) really got me peeved. What has been your experience with the CC and their customer service? Do they routinely overcharge and then give you the runaround when you try to get an explanation? |

My time is too valuable to waste over $3.50, especially when I agreed to the price at the checkout. Besides, $3.50 is a reasonable handling charge IMO. And considering that the club is responsible for some of my most prized figures and favorite convention I think they are just fine.

As for the price at checkout, it was listed as $0 for shipping. I don't think it's too much to ask to know upfront what you will be paying. |

If your card was charged the wrong amount that should be easy to fix.

1. The Collectors Club is a business – i.e. it's mission is to, as you put it, "make a pile of dough".
2. Different businesses set their prices in different ways, in a free market system that's the way it's done. Some build handling into the product cost, some don't – it's their choice (It's your choice to shop with them, or not). 3. If you completed a transaction without confirming shipping... well that's a poor decision on your part. 4. It's $3.50 |

The charge is for Shipping&Handling. Handling includes somebody packing it, boxing it, getting it onto a truck to a shipper...that isn't free, ok? Does it cost $3.50? Maybe not. But jeez. It's THREE FIFTY.
