we are iced in here in dallas tx. so i was watching the morning news and the wayans brothers are in town for the super bowl. and appearing at the live improve for the rest of the week.
marlin stated that he had to get ripped for the g i joe movie. ha! crap! i am actually leaving town for the super bowl. i am not into pro sports what so ever, muchless an extra 150,000 out of towners with nowhere to go but party. also they have been cutting our power off every hour for 15 minuts to conserve power, but yet bragging about how down town will not be affected for all their parties. what a bunch of crap. so i guess its back to work on my customs.

I'm out in Abilene, we don't have rolling power outages but I do have friends who are without and have been for a while.
I miss the north though at least there people know how to drive on snow and ice. |

The ice storm shut down a lot of stuff here in Northern Ohio today. It has been a nice day to catch up on stuff.

The sad thing is we have a huge 4x reactor nuclear power plant right outside of town that is only being utilized on 1/3 of one of it s primary reactors...the other 3 are not even activated....and they are blaming 2 coal powered substations that are somehow deactivated for the need to do rolling black outs on our first ice storm of the year...more like the century...it will be back to the upper 60s in a few days. I can see an Oncor exec saying "hey we can save millions and blame the storm and still power the super bowl! its a win win for us!" Well look like the good guys to everyone!

Yeah im the same here.. Left yesterday to run to the store, made it down to the end of my street, got stuck in the middle of the road.. ended up getting unstuck and came back home.
Today.. noticed I needed to go grocery shopping.. went to wal mart.. pulled out of my driveway... and about 10 min. later was on my way up the road. LOL Made it there with only a few slips and slides. Left wal mart.. got stuck have someone in a 4x4 diesel decided to be helpful and pull me up the hill I was on. Well I just ended up pulling him down and getting stuck with me. After a good 1/2 hour we both manage to get free and make our way onward. Everything was fine after that till.. I had to turn and had a typical tx driver in a mini pickup crawling up my ass... Didn't have a lot of time to brake or he would have plowed into me.. slide up and over a curb and almost into a pole. While trying to rock myself loose, the DPS arrives behind me sanding the area behind my tires and allowing me to get enough traction to break free and continue home.. got all the way to the end of my driveway.... 10 min. later was actually in my driveway and was unloading groceries.. so what should have taken me at most 45 min. took me a whopping 2 1/2 hours. Good thing it was cold outside and none of my frozen items really thawed out. LOL Looks like I will be calling in once again today.. Hooray for no paycheck this week. : (
