Who passed away last year? I pretty much took a year off and missed this.

My family has a long tradition of placing 1 or 2 defining objects in the casket. For my dad it was his worn pocket knife and a Binx Spray Gun from his body shop.
So I think it's very cool that someone placed some Joes on this person casket. |

My condolences go out to the family. It's cool to see how the family wanted him to be remembered as a Joe collector also.
My collection is small in comparison to most Tankers, but my wife would eventually sell my collection.

I could honestly care less about my toy collection. I get angry at myself for spending money on such an indulgence as it is. I think far more about what will happen to my leather-bound book collection. I can only think of one person in my whole family who bothers reading enough to even come close to appreciating them, and he works even longer hours than me, and has far less free time. :/

the sad thing is that when we die, our collections wont be sold off as we would have liked it to have. we'll probably see out collections being sold off on tv shows that buy entire collections at a fraction of the price.

When I die and go to the golden halls of Gimlé to be with other heathen vikings, I want my kids or my grandkids(if I die old) to have my collection. But it would be awesome to have your favorite G.I.Joe figure put into your casket.
In the heathen tradition in the Nordic countries, when we bury our dead, we always put several items for them to take to Valhalla or Gimlé. We put a weapon(could be a pocket knife), some coins and other artifacts that defined you as a person in life. In the elder days, animals such as your favorite horse were sacrificed and put into the grave with you, but that ain't done anymore.
