I just recently lost my job and I am now at a crossroads with my collecting days. I have very bad luck with my job situations and I just don't know if I should still be collecting figures. I am posting this thread to see how much people would pay for my collection. It is very large and it includes GI Joe's(25th,ROC,POC), Marvel Legends, DC Universe Classics, SOTA Street Fighter, Art Asylum/Diamond Select Star Trek(TOS and TNG),Mezco South Park, ToyBiz Legendary Comic Book Heroes, and Masters of the Universe Classics.

I'm looking to complete my SOTA Street Fighter collection, but I can't afford to pay the ebay prices for the ones I need (Blanka, M. Bison, Chun-Li)

HighTrip sorry to hear about your job.
If your looking for general ball parks for what your collection could sell for you should think about listing the names down of the individual figures not just the lines. Check ebay AUCTIONS to see what real value your toys carry. (buy it nows are never a fare example of the market) Personally I would try not to sell everything. I would "trim the fat" first and see where that gets you financially. Good luck with the job situation it can seem dooming sometimes but you'll get through it. I would personally love to take a look at your South Park toys.

Sounds like you have some A-list stuff there. There are a few things you can do...
Sell off everything and discontinue collecting. Without a list of pics, it would depend on what you have to get people interested. But most should sell i'd assume. Look for a job outside your field. The job market is coming back slowly. They said about 300,000 jobs will be created this year! So hang in there! |

I was in the same boat and to be honest it may have helped at the time but I regret having to do it. Looking back, there were a few things I wish I would have kept but I got in the mind set of everything must go and... it did.
As for jobs, the U.S. is still at 9.8% unemployment and most companies are hiring... over seas. American companies created over 1.4 million jobs last year, compared to the 1 million domestic. Had the U.S. also had that additional 1.4 million our national unemployment would have fallen to 8.9%. As mentioned by Waspinator looking outside your field is about the only way to go, unless you go back to school and get anything in the medical field. |

No offense, but why did you buy so much? I understand "army building", but did you ever consider just buying one or two of each vehicle? I was feeling sorry for you until i read your lists. You must have had one damn good paying job.
