The idea I don't understand is I keep reading that went with realistic style because collectors said they wanted it that way. Ok so your saying that your going to go this route based on what collectors( most of who don't like the renegades look). That's the part that is odd to me. If the target is the kids and a whole new audience then go for it then. It just seems like Hasbro kinda pussy footing around and not just trying 100% for something new.
And in one of my earlier ones.

Did you really think the Resolute figures look like the show? Me not so much. Lets take Duke to me his figure was a lil off from what he looked like in the move. In the move had his classic rolled up sleaves look. The figure he had short sleaves and his vest aws a lil off as well. Flint only had 1 knee pad the figure had 2.Road Block's vest looked noting like it did in Resolute.I just saying if they wanna go the POC route I'm all for it.

I think the thing that made the RoC line fail isn't changing the sculpts to actor likeness but is instead a crappy movie (for all intents and purposes), too high a price point for what they were, and in general not having a decent property to tie the figures to. In other words, if the movie had been stronger and had more of a following I would assume that the figures would have had a better following. I just think Hasbro is going the safe route by keeping the Joes to a line look, but again (as I've been trying to get across), I really don't think they need take that route. "Realistic", movie, animation, etc. styles can all co-exist as long as the sub-line that inspired them is worthwhile. Resolute was a fan's dream come true and those more animation inspired looks *still* adorn my shelves at home, while the 25th looks are mostly retired to storage. Granted, I have a few left around, but Resolute had more of an impact to me as an adult collector, but I digress. To be completely honest, no. However, a few of them (i.e., the aforementioned Duke v2, Stalker, etc.) are a heckuva lot closer than what we got with Baronnes, Roadblock, etc. In other words, Hasbro went part of the way there, but seemed too gun shy (if that's the right word) to fully commit to the Resolute look. Not sure why they didn't go more in that direction, but perhaps tooling and costs concerned meant it was just quicker and cheaper to re-use previously created molds with a few new paint apps, heads, and accessories, especially given the finite nature of the cartoon. After all, Resolute isn't an ongoing initiative; therefore, committing full line support to a style based on the animated look probably made little sense to the bean counters at Hasbro, and I honestly can't disagree with that thinking. All I know is that I'm pretty burnt out with the pants-tucked-into-boots look so I would buy a Scarlett, a Destro and a Flint toy in their Renegades outfits, so long as the headsculpts and proportions are "realistic". I'm hoping that's what Hasbro meant when they said the toys would be "POC-style": take the way the characters look in the 'toon, but REAL-ASS them up, sculpt-wise.

I get the cost cutting when it comes to resolute. I mean it was only for diehard adults and very few saw it, so of course you don't pour a ton of money on newly sculptured figures. But, here we have hasbros own network(50%) and there very own made version of gi Joe that is going to have a least 26 episodes. You know its getting redundant so ill stop.lol. I just wanted an animated line because I love the designs and style of renegades period!

We've beaten this horse to death. I don't know what is so hard for people to understand? Hasbro has investors to keep happy. Joe isn't Star Wars. It can't support multiple lines. Right now, Renegades is still a gamble. So they've decided to go the "Resolute" route and make figures that will be inspired by the animation, but be able to work with the rest of the line. If you can't understand the business decision behind that, then there's nothing new you're going to learn here.
Personally, I liked that the Resolute figures can work with both 25th, RoC, and now PoC figures. There weren't too many designs from that movie I liked. However, the ones I did, I loved. So it was great to be able to work them into my collection. If they wouldn't have looked good next to my other Joes, then I wouldn't have bought them. It's that simple. Hasbro knows this. It worked for many fans with Resolute, and it will work with Renegades. While it might be cool to see full blown stylized figures of these characters, I would NEVER buy them. Many other collectors have echoed that stance. Given Joes last mainstream media outing, and how those figures sold. You can't blame them for wanting to play it safe. Mind you there were MANY issues that had nothing to do with the movie, or the quality of the toys. However, investors care about results. Not toys, or artistic aesthetic.
