Back in the 80s and early 90s, i used VHS cassettes and..Construx!! to build fortresses for my joes and cobras,. they all worked well.. but i really loved fisher price construx.. too bad they no longer make them :(

i used to also i made a huge outpost for mine back in 93-94 wish i had taken pics of it back then i used them all the time!

ha. I did the EXACT same setup.
VHS tapes made great 3 3/4 walls for fortresses, or for Cobra 'death trap mazes'... but alas, I would usually run out of tapes, or get caught and have to clean it all up.. Construx made for great bases, gray & blue even made them look like cobra colors.. even had some camo pieces for awhile.

I totally used tp make cheesy vehicles for Joes out of construx. Not the best but they were cool. And vhs tapes? Hell yes i did.

I used Construx and I also had a set of ROBOTIX that I combined in and built other stuff. The Robotix set had a cockpit that would fit GI Joe figures at the time.

Lol, I also built Construx fortresses for my joes. I remember making one with bunkbeds and everything.

I think there are still blue connectors in random spots at my parents house - They got everywhere.

best joe base I eve made was by stacking all the Styrofoam packaging from and Apple II c!
