Found this last night while going through a box of odds and ends, forgot I had this, must be six or seven years old.
At the time I seem to recall buying it because it reminded me of Osama Bin Ladin. All the figures had the same accessories, the M60 looking gun and weird Darth Vader helmet (which from what I've seen, is pretty accurate to the middle-east). And they had a ton of these at the time, wish I would have bought the others. |

Definitely cool for some background troops or enemies in an ARAH dio. Thanks for sharing.

That's an awesome find but try more like 25 years old.
I believe that is from the mid '80s |

Honestly, I bought this around the time our first son was born and he's seven.
Could it have been old stock that just showed up one day so they put it out on the pegs? |

Absolutely cool! It's from Dollar General so possibly old stock (I have seen items at similar stores that were 8 years old)

Here's the back, notice the "Denom" fighters.
I'm assuming the one I have is the "enemy weapons officer". |

Yep, I remember, it was a Dollar General store in my town that's been around since I was a little kid.

I wonder if these are bootlegs (or re-releases) of the 80's National Defense line by Remco?
I never really full on collected these so I don't know if such a thing happened around the early 00's If the packaging had some dates we could figure this out easily. I'm sure the figure has dates on it, but they could be from when the molds were originally made (around the 80's) The same mold started in 82 with Galoob's Gen. Patch toyline, then Remco got the molds in the 80's http://www.toymania.com/334archives/ateam/remco.htm Last edited by Shogi; 12-22-2010 at 02:52 PM.. |
