That's what I was thinking, it's pretty hard to top killing your own son.
Early in the Marvel run when he shot Hawk in the back three times, that was pretty brutal. |

Cobra Commander has always intrigued me. Most of his best moments have already been mentioned. I do wish they would have explored more about what sent him over the edge, his real breaking point.

those are all awesome. The DDP Snake Eyes Classified showed some of C Cmdrs early years that was pretty cool. I also remember the Reborn / Reloaded Cmdr were Destro talks about the Cmdr's ability to manipulate and control his troops.

The explanation he gives Destro in "Cobra Reborn" as well as the speech he gives his troops.
How he is portrayed in this series is what makes him one of my favorites ever. |

Most of his best moments have been mentioned but to give one not mentioned he was pretty bad ass sinking the frieghter in the mountain and sealing all of his enemies inside to die in 100.

In ROC when he introduced himself as "the commander" the only time i was like "YES! now go out and be villainous" sadly that was at the end...
though i do like in the cartoons when he whines for various people "desssstrooooo" "baaarronnnnesss" etc etc. the best for me was renegades...except when duke "tricked" him that was just stupid |

i've mentioned it before but I also like:
DDP comic #25 Sepentor VS Cobra Commander. C Cmdr tricks Serpentor with a helmet bomb to the face and says: "You were engineered with such potential Serpentor. But you lack the most important DNA of all....MINE." Cmdr kicks Serpentor off a sheer cliff. GI Joe as a series makes very little of it's rivalries beyond Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, unlike Marvel or DC where Superman/Lex or Captain America/Red Skull or Batman/Joker have lifelong entanglements they fued over. It was nice to see Cobra Commander and Serpentor face each other in their own way - Serpentor was always CC's physical superior, but Cobra Commander - in perfect keeping with his character - manipulated the situation and used his sneakiness to finally defeat Serp once and for all. Another of my favorite, most-telling moments for Cobra Commander was around issue 100 when they were mounting the invasion of Milleville, and he says "If we have the courage to be ruthless, the world can be ours!" as a kid, the idea of 'ruthlessness' being an aspect of 'courage' blew my mind. It really made me appreciate well-written villains. Tom

Please stop talking. The amount of insider information that you have is exactly zero.
Know how I know this? Because you posted a declassified flyer which was meant for fun as a NEWS ITEM. No one would ever tell you anything because the VERY FIRST THING you would do is post it here. Probably incorrectly. |
