Nice topic, Gyre!
Off the top of my head, I'd have to say the Cobra uniforms/masks. Those kick-ass characters and how they looked is what drew me in from the get-go! See: Crimson Guard Copperhead Cobra Soldier Firefly Croc Master Etc, etc.... |

I would have to say it's the fact that it doesn't look like were getting stylized figures
That is definitely one of my favorite things about GI Joe

For me it is reliving the feelings I had as a child.

What is it about G.I. Joe? It's not so much the G., and it's not so much the Joe. It's all about the I. and that's the only thing I know.
I=imagination. |

For me its the playability of the 80s toys. The way the Joe figures, gear, playsets, and vehicles interacted with each other made for some of the best toys ever made.

You really gotta read the last bit as a disclaimer ad for prescription drugs. That real fast monotone voice that sounds smooth but sticks with you for a few seconds after the commercial ends. You know, "Clariton helps you see more clearly and works like a charm."
Clariton has not been proven to help you see more clearly and may result in seeing leprechauns or rainbows so in essence works like a charm. Clariton has been linked to sight related deaths in 30% of patients and should be taken with food. If you go blind, stop taking Clariton immediately and call a doctor. |
