Lifeline grew up in the streets of Compton and ran with a small group of thugs known as NWA. He would bust caps on a regular...he did a 10yr bid before joining GI JOE and changing his life around.
...He was still bust a cap on a mutha'ph$%^&a if he had to though |

I'm actually working on a joe fan film where lifeline is placed in a situation where he has to make a choice......Personally, I would like to think that lifeline would do what was neccessary when the time called for it.

Personally I subscribe to a modified version of lifeline who IS a Combat Soldier.
"Terrorists are like Cancer. Cancer arises from normal cells that mutate and try to kill their host. Terrorists arise from normal humans who go bad and try to destory humanity. Doctors use chemo to kill cancer cells and no one complains. I fail to see the problem with using the appropriate techniques to kill terrorists. Its simply medicine for society." - Lifeline |

I think this pic sums it up for me. The Sunbow cartoon focused on him far too much as a pacifist freak. Its one thing to be one but as a soldier, you do what you have to do to keep your team alive and kickin. As illustrated above, clearly Hasbro intended for Lifeline to do just that. |

All my joes are Trigger pullers. The best medicine is accurate fire down range. medical personel are another patrol member till someones hurt and the only person i know who doesnt carry a gun is the chaplain. but he usually has his assistant with him packing the jesus bullets

The card art is cool, but the Sunbow cartoon Lifeline was an annoying queer, IMO. One of my least favorite characters! Again, though, that card art is dope!

Well, Doc isn't necessarily a pacifist...he does things like help traverse the gun on the freighter when the controls are blown out. BUT, I do believe he says that, as a Doctor, he's not ALLOWED to carry weapons according to the Geneva Convention (not sure if that's accurate, but I think most if not all military doctors ARE unarmed?).
Lifeline, though, I have no idea. I would think it hard for a guy to get on an elite special forces team being a pacifist. At the same time, it enriched his character in the comics, and character>>>>>military realism. |

I remember lifeline being a pacifist. i could never get past the fact that he carried a firearm (the toy) i vaguely remember someone in hasbro, or in the comic trying to explain the holstered gun on the toy as a flare gun, but the back card had him looking like he would use this 9mm or 45 (whichever it is) without hesitation. I wonder if the pacifist thing was an after thought of the toy design.
