It was announced that the military is in the process of developing a flight capable humvee for military use. The reason why I'm putting it here is because it was described in the newspaper article I read as a real life "G.I. Joe" vehicle! DARPA is in the process of R & D into building a humvee with folding wings and a rotor blade for battlefield use. These artists concepts depict the main idea: Folding wings and a folding rotor blade would be built into the vehicle for take off and flight and the fan arrangement on the back for thrust and manuvering. It does look like something Hasbro, or a Tanker, would come up with. I hope DARPA does succede in building this vehicle: And if they don't, I hope Hasbro does.

Hell, I remember when I was in most of the new soldiers in our company couldn't even drive stick. Our platoon had three duece and a halves, and I was the only one who could drive them. I'd hate to see any of them trying to get behind the wheel of one of those things. lol

This is dumb. they tried the concept of a flying jeep back in the 50s and 60s looks up the piaseki flying jeep or something like that. The hmmwv was great for what is was designed for but all the upgrades and after market parts blow IMHO how about they just make a great land vehicle and use helos more often like pop rocks and soda you just shouldnt mix the two

What would the controls be like? One set for ground, one for flight? Would they have to build a training simulator? The mind boggles.
