GI Joe is doing just fine in my opinion, new cartoon and POC doing well. How many here agree with this?

Well...I don't believe G.I. Joe will ever "die" necessarily, but for a variety of reasons discussed in the other thread I doubt it will ever be what it was in the '60s or '80s. The obvious key points being way more toys available, way too many things to take away attention (video games), less availability and shelf space for the toys, more channels on TV to lower the chance of people seeing Renegades, the list goes on and on.
I think that G.I. Joe has become an iconic staple of Americana, and that as long as Hasbro continues to exist, so will Joe in some capacity, even if it's a strange reinvention like Extreme or Sigma 6. So it's highly unlikely it will ever fully die, but I wouldn't exactly go as far as to say it's doing really well either. |

I believe in a lot of things, and sometimes I am lucky enough to be correct. And other times, well, I've been waiting for that damn Easter Bunny for years now.

The recipe is simple. Make good figures. Don't make lousy ones. Sell them at a reasonable price. Have a good TV series and/or movie. Have frequent commercials.
Is that so hard to do? LOL! |

Yea true, just with POC out now that everyone was so stoked for and now its 'the death of the line' again. Its on the shelves and its selling, slower now as expected, but should pick up as the holiday shopping begins. Hasbro put a lot of money into this line and certainly is still a viable product from my view of it.
