At one point I did.
While in highschool I got that bug and sold my Moray....that ended that. Once I had sold that I regreted it and stopped that. Yes I looked sorta stupid to friends, and yes I took a lot of verbal abuse and even likely lost a few women when they found out I still bought toys, but it was worth it now. I found a woman who while she likely doesn't like my collection much at least tolerates it. And I'm now the object of my friends saying...wish I'd kept my stuff. |

Then I got it back when Hasbro started making the 12inch realistic (super articulated) figures. They were like 25+ bucks. Then I lost it in 2000. Then it came back in 2004 (slightly) with spytroops, and that started to die off quick, then 25th came. I shit when I saw them (first 25th anniversary 5 pack G.I. Joe & Cobra) in Walmart. I bought 4, 2 to keep MIP and 2 to open. We've been together ever since... Yes they were! I still bbought a few of them... |

In all seriousness I was never too far away from some sort of toy collecting..I was pretty casual about it. A Marvel Legend here and there.
I loved my old Joes and still kept them close to me...when 25th came out I started there...then found the Tank...now I have 25th stuff, restoring O-Ring stuff...POC...and a bunch of other crap I shouldn't be spending money on |

Funny, I was just thinking about this topic to myself the other day.
It's interesting to see the same pattern as mine for the majority of the posts. I stopped with toys all together around age 12 and didn't even think twice about them again until I ran into some clearanced 25th stuff last year at a Ross store. This accidental discovery led me to realize how extensive the 25th line was (and how I missed the majority of it), but none the less caught up quickly and now toy collecting is becoming my main hobby. And thanks to great sites like this one (still the best!!!), I can validate my collecting knowing there are other "grown-ups" that get as much pleasure collecting as I do. I am getting a little worried now that my collecting is expanding into Marvel Universe, Star Wars and Transformers. I feel like a kid again but this time with a fatter wallet and not needing my parents permission to grab whatever I want. Great stuff. |

I'm losing it now because I am burnt out on getting remakes of the same character over and over and over. And I want some better and bigger vehicles.

The only time I lost my passion of Joe was when the ARAH comic ended. 12 years was a good run.In the break of going to school & working,I got into other lines, Star Wars, Toy Biz Marvel &Bat Man. I got back in 2001 with DD run and have been in it ever since.Maybe the fire is not as strong it was as when I was kid, but Joe is the still first, best ,always.
